I've used the Delta-400 for shooting everything from landscapes to portraits, day, night, flash, motion, etc. It's beautiful. It has great tonality and will behave however you want it to. I have had no issues with tracking and it also has some nice endurance and therefore can be handled a little bit. After using Kodak Tri-X and various other b&w's, you'd have to pay me to go away from the Delta. Try it out - you won't be sorry.

I use the film for my travels, I like printing my own photos in darkroom and the 400delta makes my black and white deep and real. Definitely Recommended.

I use this film along with Kodak T-Max Pro 400. I have to say, I prefer the quality of the grain and the clarity of the Ilford film better.

A finely grained film giving a beautiful tonal rendering. Scans well, quite forgiving of less than perfect exposure.

I wouldn't call it complete "freedom from grain" but it's pretty close. The grain that does exist works for me. I'm able to get consistent results with my Minolta Maxxum 5 no matter what mode I use (usually manual). It's by far the most consistent B&W film I've used and I'm always happy when I see the results.

This was the first time i used another black and white film aside from TriX. I must say that when i used this for my photography assignment I was a bit skeptical about the results of the film, fortunately this film is much grainier than the TriX film which is the greatest thing about this product, and i am very happy that there was nothing unsatisfactory about this product.

I used the Delta 400 film for my black and white film class. I am learning a lot from the class, and my first roll of this film came out great! It was very durable during the developing process and came out clear. It's a great product, easy to use, and I will definitely use Ilford in the future!

Great for capturing fine detail even in low light conditions. Really like the way it handles high contrast lighting situations in the woods.

It's still the best Black and White Film. Why use a DSLR and convert color to B&W, when you the best film is out there?
The grain is really fine.

Comments about Ilford Delta-400 Professional 135-36 Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
I am a college student minoring in photography. The Delta 400 film is my go-to film. I use this film for probably 90% of my assignments.
I get a great tonal range, and great contrast, giving me negatives that are easy to print.
It also is relatively forgiving in developing errors (I've left it in developer for too long before and still have been alright. Just a little higher in contrast), and even in exposure errors.
Being a professional film it does cost more than others geared more towards students (HP5, TriX), but once you know what you're doing, it's well worth the upgrade.
Comments about Ilford Delta-400 Professional 135-36 Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
Before I use Delta 400, I only use the Kodak TMAX400. Well, it is good, but I want more details in my picture.
Then I was recommended by my friend to try the Delta400.
After I film came out, my father and I was so surprising about the details that in the picture. Especially I took the architecture with it, it is so amazing that I can see every structure in the cloudy day.
Delta 400, it is my favourite B&W film

I started using this film after Agfa stopped making their film or whatever the case was.
I have been using this film for years and my negatives always come out beautiful whether I send the film out to be processed or I do it myself.

Kodak has lost an edge in the black and white film category, especially with the reformulation of Tri-X, which I once swore by. This is my new favorite.
