Originally purchased as a replacement back up headphone set for productions, it is a little bit clunky but has a nice ear cup design. The sound is clear and relatively flat with a slight boost of bass due to its over the ear design that makes it sound better for certain recording situations. I use Bose TriPort over the ears with music and the only real difference is a certain range of mids and a not as pronounced highs, but overall this can be more useful in field recording situations.

A little clunky. They do not fit well on someone with a small head.

I wear these for hours at a time working in a large office room with 5 other people, more passing through and plenty of distractions. They are comfortable, affordable and so worth it. They aren't noise canceling but they don't need to be; just wearing them blocks a lot of noise. Playing music takes me completely out of the madness. I'd much rather have quality audio over pure noise canceling.
Shouldn't need the comparison but it's a common one - these are worlds better than Apple earbuds.

i use these for monitoring the audio during video recording, and when video editing.
i wanted a closed-back design that wasnt too expensive.
these fit the bill and are "ok". the fit is a little tight/snug. but the price was right.

I use these headphones with both my computer and IPod Touch. They are well built and comfortable, and have fantastic frequency response. I did a good deal of research on other headphones before purchasing these. For the price they cannot be beat.

I use the headphone for listening to music. The sound is above average. Confortable but can get too warm after two hours. I like the extra long cord and heavy duty jack.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Headphone:
These cans are very comfortable. I was surprised at the quality of the sound these produce. I started to listen to a few 'test' recordings, and while adjusting the EQ, I noticed I kept reverting back to a near-flat response setting! I've not had that happen with any cans I've owned. I was impressed! The overall sound is pleasing, and although I feel there is a bit of a slight boominess to the upper bass, it can easily be EQ'd. The bass is quite nice, and provides enough low-end for movies and music. I however feel that these headphones are not-quite 'studio' can-quality sound-wise. The construction is good, and even while wearing glasses, are not uncomfortable at all - a big concern for me! These cans do not isolate you well from outside sounds - no biggie, since they are not sound-canceling; they do provide a fair amount of isolation from outside sounds when listening to moderately loud sound. All-in-all, I like these cans, and would recommend them. If you want TRUE studio sound quality, however; you should consider other ones.

These are probably the best headphones you will find, if you're looking for comfortable AMAZING sound. You can use them in any situation and they won't fall off. When I first tried these I couldn't believe the sound you can get out of them. I listened to almost every album I had in the room and all I could think was "I finally found the headphones I've been looking for!"

I have purchased over a 100 of these in the last 4 years for my students to wear as they work on their multimedia assignments. This class requires students to have headphones on for over 2 hours a day. These headphone are light and extremely comfortable and produce great sound quality for the price. I would highly recommend this product and I will continue to purchase them every year for my students.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Headphone:
I have several pairs of these in my home studio. I always use them with 10' extension cables as the coil makes the cable short. Durable enough for careful studio use, but wouldn't take them on the road. Great price for a good general purpose headphone. Bass rolls of at 30Hz so I use better AT model for final mastering. I've been using AT mics for many years (20+) and generally find their products consistent and reliable.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Headphone:
I use the product to listen to my metronome and CD playing while playing the drums. They look really cool because they are all black and they are comfortable but more padding wouldn't hurt, yet they are comfortable the way they are. some more noise reduction would also be nice but that may only come with more money. All in all, they are great for the price and music and videos sound really good using them.

It was out off stock on BH and even on [...]. Returned, recently I could buy one. Is the best choice for the price, near-professional quality by reasonable price. Only lightly non flat response, falling bass to highs frequencies, easily equalizable.

Comments about Audio-Technica ATH-M30 Headphone:
I have used these a couple times out on set and were much better than my last pair. The headband is comfortable and doesn't strangle your head. The cord is the perfect length for standing away from the camera and won't trip you. I also like that the headphones come with a 1/4 in. adapter. The one complaint I have is that they aren't as soundproof as I would like. Otherwise, as a pair of semi-cheap monitor headphones, I am happy with my purchase.
