Comments about AKG C451B/ST - Stereo Matched Pair:
The 451B/ST may cost a bit more but they are worth the sound they capture.
I use the 451's for mobile and studio work, recording various instruments & vocals.
1) Silky, Smooth Sound to melt for.
2) Little to "no Eq" needed (Fantastic!!!).
3) Sounds great on many instruments.
4) Makes mixing time pleasant (I love it!).
5) Leaves me more time to create.
Besides the silky highs, these little microphones Pick up very impresive smooth low frequencies; which is what I was looking for in a "small diaphram" mic set.
Another mic company offers a match pair set (which are great and are an awesome value) but, are just shy from having the 451 sound.
The 451B/ST microphones makes recording easier and more enjoyable.
You would have to hear other small diaphram microphones to appreciate the sound of the 451's.
