I use this film as my primary film emulsion, for all my analog imagery. This is a great film with little grain and great latitude in developing. I am currently using this film as the primary medium for my Thesis work. It is a consistent film and results every time. I would highly recommend it for work that requires a constant and consistent results.
It comes in divided packets inside the box, making it simple to remove a portion to a smaller box for field work so you do not have to carry all 100 units.

I started taking photos and developed the film and realized instantly that there were hundreds of perfect thin scratches going across every single negative. All of them have it so far and it is very noticeable especially on black spots. It is not water drips or scratches by anything - it is impossible. My only explanation along with a few of my teachers is that it was scratched up while being produced at Ilford's factory. Luckily I cannot see it on my prints so far. I am hoping they all do not look like this but probably they will. The good news is its not showing up on the prints but the bad news is my negatives look awful and I have no idea if it will get worse as I use more film and maybe it will show on my prints. Very disappointed.

I often try different films but always seem to come back to this. Works in many different developers, I mainly use ID11 or Rodinal, and it is very forgiving.
The box speed is spot on too.

Great quality film for a decent price. But it really depends on what kind of film you like, but you can't go wrong with the Ilford FP4 ISO-125. I would say the best for its price.

I am an art student and use the film for various photography projects from portraiture to landscape. The film is very versatile and provides great contrast throughout the image. The fine grain allows for a sharp and refined look for my portraits and shows great detail in portraits. It's hard to have a lower ISO but is great with enough available light.

While this is the only black and white film I've ever used, I do believe that it's the best 4x5 film available today. It's all we're really allowed to use at Art Center and since [...] is the man, I do believe that he's correct in his film choice. If you're shooting 4x5 definitely work with this film.

A very nice film, easy for development, in high contrast situation I usually use it as ISO 50, and reduce 15%-20% develop time, it gives me an incredible gradation & super fine grain

Comments about Ilford FP4 Plus 4x5" 100 Sheets Black & White Print Film (ISO-125):
I recently switched to FP4 Plus from HP5 Plus in hopes of greater contrast. It delivers. Developed in Moersch Tanol Speed, the film can be exposed at EI 160, above Ilford's ISO rating, with no visible grain at moderate enlargements. Great shadow detail and tonal separation, and the highlights spread out on a long shoulder. The film base is easy to work with and I do not find it to scratch easily. I use it mainly for portraiture and still-life.
