I needed silica packs quickly because I dropped my ipad in the sink (I'm a genius) and was told (NOT by B&H, mind you)that if I stuck it in a sealed bag with silica packets they would draw the moisture out of it. I did that and it didn't work. So maybe that's not so much a reflection on the moisture munchers as my bad luck. They turn pink when they have wicked away the moisture and they turned pink, so I assume the work.

The moisture munchers are the perfect solution to put inside my camera housing in a humid environment. I do not dive, however I use a dive housing on my Canon Elph when I take the family to camp on the beach in South Carolina. The Munchers work great in keeping my lens clear and I have never had an issue fogging up, or problem with the camera underwater. This is a very compact and useful product.

Wanted these for the housing of my little underwater camera. Being they are in a hard casing they don't fit. I need some that size but pliable. But, I can use them for other camera bags, etc. They won't go to waste.

The worked great for my canon g12 housing, although you need to be aware they are not flat packs, but small rounded cylinders, which can make it difficult to get them into some housings. I threw 3 of them in my video camera housing and they worked great. Transferred the equipment from a room with AC to 90 degrees with 75% humidity and the slight fogging almost immediately dissipated, and everything was good to go by the time I hit the water.

We put a Hero cam in its waterproof box, attached it to a glider, and sent it up with the pilot. It was mounted outside the aircraft. Apparently somewhere around 1,000 feet, not long after takeoff, the inside of the waterproof box fogged up. We missed the entire flight we had paid for. It's a very tight case and it is difficult to fit in, but these moisture packs do fit most of the waterproof cases. Buy a limited quantity first to see if they fit. In not, just keep them in your camera bag to protect the equipment.

I'm using this for my Canon S95 Waterproof case. It works but kind of pricey for what it is (my opinion).

I use Moisture Muncher for more than just keeping my camera dry. I live in a warm and humid area that can destroy my family treasures. I put them in my safe that stores my old pictures, negatives and other important papers that could be affected by moisture. I also leave them in my gun cabinet to keep my guns and knives from rusting. In my expensive electrical meter cases and testing equipment, I put a Muncher to keep moisture from affecting calibration and to eliminate corrosion in my electronic component parts. In general, Moisture Munchers have saved me a lot of money in repairs and preserving my family history artifacts.

These are great for use in airtight storage containers. But for camera bags, you probably want Pelican Silica Gel.

Used on a very windy, rainy, sleety, snowy trip to Iceland. Put inside ziplock bags with my bodies and lenses whenever I went from outside to inside. My lenses still had moisture on them but never fogged. These changed colors from blue to gray. I think that means they worked although they weren't as absorbant as I'd hoped.

I use to have to save capsules from medicine/vitamin/etc. bottles and from received shipping packages to place in my camera and computer bags, but since those do not indicate when they are no longer actively absorbing moisture, you never know when you need to discard and replace them. Now there is no more need for salvage hunts to find moisture eaters and no more guessing when to replace. Sealife's Moisture Muncher Desiccants solve both problems.

I used this item for a scuba diving trip in Andros, Bahamas. I placed this into the WP-DC34 housing for a Canon Powershot G12. The housing had plenty of room.
There was no detectable moisture issue or fogging during use of this product. Thanks to the housing, it stayed "blue" the whole time.

Note: This product does not fit into the Canon WP-DC17 housing for the Canon Powershot SD870IS.

Moisture Munchers fit right into a pre-made slot in my Sealife DC-1200. I have to say that they really make a huge difference in keeping the housing free of moisture and fog. The camera doesn't go in the water without one!
