Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm 100' Roll Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
I switched to this from Kodak Tri X about 10 years ago. HP5 seems holding shadow details better than Tri X, at least with Heinrich Stockler two bath , D-76 or D-23 processing.

Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm 100' Roll Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
It's an accurate film which I've used for many years. The most attractive points is its unique grain, grainy but beautiful.
Other characters I like most is the push ability, perfect push to 800 or 1600, if it's processed properly, even hard to find the difference with the one exposed as 400.
It's always easy to process, and it's so comfortable with almost all the popular developers. Especially for the beginner, it really has a great tolerance to the temperature, water conditions and etc.

Loaded the film for a photography class. Hand processed and printed 8x10's from the film. The film performed well, even in dwindling light, and had very little noise. It is extremely versatile and works well in a wide range of lighting conditions. I will definately purchase again.

Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm 100' Roll Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):
I am a student taking a bw photo class and enjoy photography as a hobby. Rolling my own film is really fun and it can save money depending on how you roll your film. I tend to sometimes cut it at 5 to 10 shots because i only have time to shoot that much or i just really wanna develop them to see the results, if you do the math you will waste at least 1 and a half of a negative on each roll you make, so the longer the rolls, the more money you save. (install film in complete darkness to save the first two negatives, i think the max is ~38-40 depending on the size of the reel you use for development)
The only thing i don't like about this is that there is no way for you to tell how many negatives you have rolled, so i just use an old exposed/developed roll of film as reference to measure the exact amount of film needed in a roll, but would be nice if they devised a method to do so without using a machine.

I've always used Ilford film, and the 100' roll definitely saves a lot of money. Bulk is better!!! The quality of the film is also very great. On the package it provides the developer times which saves me time to look it up.

From time to time, I try different other B&W films, but I always come back to HP5. This film is very versatile - easily pushes up to 3200 with lots of detail in critical areas. And you can save a few bucks by buying in bulk.
