The Shure WH30 is a lightweight headworn microphone featuring an electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. The microphone is intended for vocalists and musicians who prefer the freedom of hands free performances. The capsule features a wide frequency and sensitivity response which provide accurate, smooth detail and transparent signal reproduction.
The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing signal at the off-axis sections of the microphone. The result provides adequate rejection of audio from nearby stage monitors, providing high gain-before-feedback response. In addition, the capsule provides exceptional sound pressure level response. The microphone is capable of reproducing peaking audio signals without noise and distortion caused by overload. The lightweight wire frame and gooseneck integrates an elastic CROAKIES headband that is adjustable in size while providing a secure, comfortable fit.

I have an indoor cycling studio and this "hard wired" mic is my reliable backup if we ever have problems with our wireless transmitter/receiver. It delivers clean, crisp audio and holds up well to moisture. You can't go wrong with this one!

I use this product for my web show.
Looks profesional and is easy to use.
The sound is kind of muffled but then again I think it was made that way on purpose in order to not pick up background noise. I'm not big sound pro like most of the people on here so I cant go into a lot of technical detail. Like I said it does sound a little muffled but I fix this with the equalizer on Imovie.

Comments about Shure WH30 - Headworn Condenser Vocal Performance Microphone with XLR Connection:
I am a Rock lead guitarist/singer who plays midi synthesized bass pedals. I play standing up! It's hard to be glued to a boom stand singing while trying to monitor where my hands are on the guitar and where my right foot is on the pedals. The headset mic was the perfect solution. It stays in place on my head well and sounds as good (probably better) than my Shure SM58 and Shure Beta 58. It seems to be better with controlling feedback than the stand-held mics.

Comments about Shure WH30 - Headworn Condenser Vocal Performance Microphone with XLR Connection:
We use this headworn mic at my church for the leader of a chanting group. The unit is comfortable and lightweight, and the sound quality is very good. The defect we have found is that the mic boom that extends from the ear to the mouth is not sufficiently adjustable to fit smaller heads. It works fine on the men who have tried it, but the mic cannot be made to stay put when adjusted for a woman with a petite head. A strip of electrical tape can be used like a bowstring to hold the boom bent at 90º, but it will not stay that way without the tape. Overall it seems like a good value.

I use it to record people's pronunciation. The sound is very clear, and the distance from the mouth to the mic is stable. It could be lighter, though.
