The Seagull GC-109 is the top of the Seagull medium format roster. Like the GC-107, this non-metered classically-styled twin-lens reflex camera is patterned in the time-honored design of older Yashicamats. Its lightweight simple design consists of a waist-level finder with pop-up magnifier, manual film crank advance and separate shutter speed and aperture levers.
The GC-109 has all the features of the GC-107 and includes a 4 element "picture taking lens" plus a shutter lock lever. The viewing lens is a 75mm f/2.8 lens made of 3 elements in 3 groups. The mechanical lens shutter design provides flash synchronization at all speeds up to 1/500 second and there is also Bulb exposure. This camera also features a cold flash shoe and PC terminal for external electronic flash connection.
NOTE: The GC-109 differs from the GC107 in two ways. First, the GC-109 has an improved four element lens. Second, the GC-109 aperture and shutter speed settings are set using two rotating dials - one on each side of the lens with the readings seen through a small window above the viewing lens. The GC107 uses two sliding levers - one on each side of the lens but does not have an available window for reading the chosen settings.

Comments about Seagull GC-109 Medium Format Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) Camera with Built-in 75mm f/3.5 Lens:
First, the quality of this camera is ASTONISHING! In your hands, you can FEEL quality, and this camera gives you that feeling. I use this camera when I want to go grab some Medium Format shots without dragging a bunch of equipment like film magazines, lenses, etc.
Remember that even a mediocre Medium Format camera/lens will usually give great results due to the large negative size. This camera does a FABULOUS JOB! It is very nicely made, reminicsent of the Great TLR Cameras of old, just like the RolleiFlex. VERY easy to use, accurate exposure and focus and just plain Fun. The 1.5X Tele Lenses are GREAT! Also, Flash sync at ALL speeds because it has a LEAF SHUTTER. Loaded with great features, in fact it is a full featured TLR.
If you ever used a TLR and want one again, This is the one! Can't beat the price, and that's for a complete system, including the Telephoto Converter lenses, the Add-On Meter, a basic flash, and the NICE case. This is nothing but FUN, but will also give you GREAT SHOTS!

Comments about Seagull GC-109 Medium Format Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) Camera with Built-in 75mm f/3.5 Lens:
I'm new to medium format and find this a fun camera to learn the ropes with. In school we used all the high end equipment, but there is nothing like starting back at the basics of full manual control. This camera operates nearly identically to older Rolliflex models I looked at before buying the GC-109. I take architectural photos with it and am very satisfied with the simplicity of the camera. The square image size matches the square negative image. This is great for composing images.
