This is a great tripod for the money. It has a very sturdy construction and opens easily and quickly. It was my first tripod and I wanted one so that I could shoot night photography but i did not want to spend an excessive amount of money on one so i settled on this tripod. I was not disappointed it did everything i needed it to. Probably the only thing that i would have liked to have would have been a bubble level to keep my photos nice and straight, but you can always straighten them out in Photoshop so it really isn't that big of a deal. All in all it was a great tripod and I think that I will continue to buy from Sunpak whenever buying a tripod. And I will always buy from B&H for all my camera needs no other site beats there prices or costumer support.

Useful for taking pictures at night, for panoramas or for that "tack sharp" landscape picture you always wanted to have.
The quality of the product is medium (average). Good things about it are the price, stability and the fact that you have it "up and running" very quick. The bad ones are that it is kind of heavy and does not have that professional look and construction if you analize the joints and bindings.
Its low height doesn't make it very good for portraits of standing people because it limits your image composition since you can not take a picture at the eye level of the subject.
Other than that it does its job very good especially when you consider its low price.

Comments about Sunpak 2001UT Photo/Video Tripod:
How could I be using digital cameras for so many years without a tripod? This device will allow beginners to shoot with a lot more precision and to make videos without too much shaking, even though it looks more like a professional tool. It's great for dark settings, in order to keep ISO at lower rates. It does not take too much time to mount, it's pretty stable, it's affordable and it comes with its own bag. What's not to love? Perhaps it's a little big for carrying it around "just in case", but it might certainly come in handy anytime.

Comments about Sunpak 2001UT Photo/Video Tripod:
I use this tripod as a family tripod with a DSLR. It does phenomenal and has great leg support. I was not expecting such reasonably thick legs. For the price, I thought it was one of those pencil thick tripods, not the case. The tripod is versatile with no problems taking it out or putting it away. The bag it comes with even has extra space for other items. One beef I have with the design is that the cork material on the quick release that goes on the camera was peeling off. They included an extra/replacement one so this must be a known problem.

It's lightweight, with a nice gold tone finish, and handles my camcorder well. I will also use it with my still camera. With a second Quick Release Platform and carrying case included it's a great deal.

Comments about Sunpak 2001UT Photo/Video Tripod:
Was my very first tripod purchase at the very beginning of my photography experience, just to try my hands using them.
It did an OK job and the price is the best feature.
While it has slight drawbacks and flaws and the quality is medium, overall it is an solid product for a bargain price.
I would recommend it for beginners.

This Tripod is excellent. If you take good care of it (don't bend, dent legs) it will last a very long time. It also comes with an extra base-plate. The only dislike I have with this purchase is that the price of shipping was half the price of the item (???)

I actually got more than expected when I ordered this tripod. It's obviously not a pro-grade piece of equipment, but it's perfect for consumer-level shooting.
