I've got back packs, sling bags and so forth to carry my gear but sometimes they can be a real pain to get to. This strap has allowed me to store my 70 to 200mm l series lens on my side (with additional belt carrier-see recommended accessories) so I have easy access to my lens. I also have another bag that from Tamrac that I attach to the belt that hold my DSLR. After I attach all my accessory bags, it may not look stylish anymore but it does the job and it's sturdy!!!! My only complaint is that when I have a good amount of weight on it, the strap could use additional support say with a pair of suspender like straps or a single shoulder like strap, but overall a great strap.

Good but short
Not 46" long as claimed, closer to a maximum 40" waist is more accurate. Padding is alright, but can shift near the buckle. Otherwise it seems well made.

Order 1 size up. The waist size is small than advertized.
Worked great. Could wear a cameara and lens bag on my waist while hiking with a day pack.

Comments about Tamrac MBX5397 M.A.S. Modular Accessory Belt, Medium (Black):
First - the sizing: I am a 34-35 waist and this just fits. If you are over 36 waist or do a lot of cold weather shooting (wearing jackets, fleece, coats etc...) go to the next size (large).
Overall, very comfortable and can tell that this will last a while. I have recently used it with: Pentax K5/18-135 Zoom, heavy Rangefinder, 31mm K-lens, Cokin filter system - all attached in their respective cases to the MAS belt - and it fit snug, balanced and was comfortable over 3-4miles of hiking, crouching and crawling. I could have gone further.
Someone elsewhere recommended a military utility belt. I disagree - it does not have the padding and, now, costs just as much from a surplus store.
I have also not had too much of an issue tightening/loosening while attached - although it took me a couple of times to get used to how to do that. The important thing here to me is that once it's tightened and you're moving it stays in place.

This belt works as described. It is not very easy to tighten, but it is comfortable. I use it to hold a Tamrac zoom holster with a 300/4 on a body, and the weight distibution is good. (I also use the shoulder strap for the holster across my body to help out.)
Other reviewers have mentioned the sizing - they are correct. Order one size up from what Tamrac says. For example, with a 35-inch waist the Medium is just right for me.

Comments about Tamrac MBX5397 M.A.S. Modular Accessory Belt, Medium (Black):
I use the belt and a compatible camera case for walking around town and shooting photos. It works really well for my purpose. It does not restrict or interfere with leg movement while walking, like a lot of belt-pack camera holders that allow the camera case to ride too low on the torso. Although I have not tried it yet, I think if the belt is fitted with other accessory holders filled with accessories, the overall weight may make the belt less useful by either forcing it to slip down while walking, or requiring such a tight belt setting that would cause discomfort.

I have used this belt 5 times since I received it and it has been flexible and non cumbersome in all the situations. I would recommend this belt and accessories for anyone that needs to carry several lenses and accessories on the move. Hiking, Weddings, and everyday shooting all fit into this equipments range of usefulness.

Great belt to use the MAS components. Seems to fit nicely, and I haven't had a second thought about the buckle coming undone to spill my expensive lenses on the ground. Completely satisfied.

I bought this belt and several lens cases. Changing lenses is now much easier as I can make the switch without being concerned about finding a safe place to put a lens while attaching another to my DSLR. Very comfortable and well constructed.

I own a Tamrac field pack, with a built in padded belt and back pack harness. But sometimes I don't need - nor want - to carry the whole deal. So. pack a few lens and accy packs on this nicely padded belt, and travel lightly.
Yessssssssss.

Comments about Tamrac MBX5397 M.A.S. Modular Accessory Belt, Medium (Black):
Very comfortable to wear this belt for long periods of time. I initially used it for shooting engagement and wedding shots outdoors, a task that it worked nicely for. With a simple change of modules and I'm off to do some urban exploration. Although I purchased the harness, I didn't find it's use necessary, the belt stayed put with three lens pouches and an auxilliary pouch, for several hours. The medium size was just right for me, I wear a size 42 belt, and there is still room to expand.

Comments about Tamrac MBX5397 M.A.S. Modular Accessory Belt, Medium (Black):
Using this belt and other MAS accessories, I can carry everything I need for a day in the field. It is a lot more comfortable than wearing a hot vest. To get the proper adjustment, put all the gear on the belt first and then adjust for your waist size. Like the other reviewer said, suspenders would help with a heavy load.
