Design keeps the filters, caps, cell phone, or whatever you want to put in there comfortably snug, while expanding to accommodate the thickest filter assembly.
You might be tempted to put more than one filter in each slot, but I would recommend against it particularly if the filters are of different diameters. Not worth the risk of scratching, although if you are in a pinch, you can do it with a lens cloth wrapping for each lens. Be careful when trying to lift the lens out, however.
Really best utility if you have four to five accessories that you want to have readily available. Otherwise, a bit bulky for just one or two. But, if you buy this, you will find creative uses for the other slots!
If you have a belt, this is a necessary accessory for mobile shooting engagements. Actually, I've used it easily on my regular pants belt. Also a very handy replacement for all the individual plastic filter cases when packing your equipment for travel. You can't read the filter information as readily, of course, but you can retrieve a filter with one hand, if necessary, without having to open and close a plastic case each time.
A worthwhile item to have in your inventory.

I read thru the reviews here and wanted to replace my current f/64 filter pack w/ something that didn't have mesh lined pockets to allow me to store filters w/o the plastic hard cases and still feel secure they won't scratch.
This Tamrac is well constructed on the EXTERIOR. But beware, the INTERNAL 'slots' are NOT separate as described. It is ONE Pocket w/ four padded inserts that DO NOT go all the way to the bottom of the pocket. There's a little 'gap' at the bottom w/ no foam padding, they only are sewn across (sewn to inside edges ONLY- not bottom), not attached to the inside bottom.
I'm a little concerned that my filters may 'rub' against each other on the bottom edges. Especially since I usually carry a couple 58mm filters, which might 'fit' inside the diameter of the 72mm or 82mm filters I readily carry.
Being a former backpack & accessories designer, I might try to add an open cell insert on my own. Or consider returning this to B&H. The jury is still out, I'll give it a *cautious* try-out period first.

I store 2 B+W clamshells and 3 round loose filters in this pack, and it does a great job, everything is snug, secure and padded. It fits nicely in one of the sections of my Dakine pack and is easy to access when out shooting.

Comments about Tamrac MX5388 Filter Belt Pack - for Holding 5 Round or Square Filters up to 82mm:
This product is well made, and has plenty of room and padding in between the slots. I use it with 77mm filters. It can be attached to a belt or a strap on a bag easily as it has a flap that is entirely velcro so it can accommodate a variety of belt/strap sizes. I also like the top loop that I can attach a caribener to and tote it around on my tripod or belt loop (if I'm not wearing a belt that day).

Very well made. Just a bit larger than I envisioned. Wish it was a tad smaller.

I haven't broken any filters yet so I am sure that I bought the right filter pack. It's a little bit bigger but it protects every type/sizes of filter that you can put in there.

This filter pack works exactly as it was designed with my Velocity-8X Pro photo sling pack. It attaches to the bag with velcro and buttons. My 58 mm filters for my Canon Rebel T2i fit well and are protected well.

Comments about Tamrac MX5388 Filter Belt Pack - for Holding 5 Round or Square Filters up to 82mm:
I have really valued the Tamrac 9X shoulder bag that I purchased 1 year ago. It works great in the field with its portability and comfort. However, I noticed that when I wanted to get my ND filters out of the bag I would have a hard time seeing which filter I needed as it is darker inside the bag and the filters with their cases were just grouped in a corner pocket somewhere. So it was a little frustrating especially during a sunset or sunrise with low light conditions.
I have a ND filter system that includes 3 separate Gradiant ND filters and they each have their separate cases to keep them clean. Also included is the filter attachment to screw into the front of my 28-80 lens that holds 1,2 or all 3 filters. I really wanted the MX5388 Filter pack to work since it attaches to my shoulder bag so easily but the height of the filter pockets was a little too short for my filter cases. After a lot of searching I didn't have any luck finding the right product to accommodate the size of my filter kit. Then I realized that I could put the filter cases in sideways in the Tamrax MX5388 and have plenty of room to secure the velcro lid. Whenever I need the filter system I simply open up the lid, stand the cases upright, choose the filter(s) and I can see everything clearly. When I am done I just put them sideways and they fit snuggly into the case. Now I can keep the filters in their cases so they stay clean while I am climbing around mountains, forests, etc. and still have them easily assessible when needed.
I hope this may help other sutterbugs think outside the box (filter bag) a little more when needing to accommodate particular needs.
Thanks Tamrac & B&H too for having a complete product line of ideas to help with all my needs.

This is a great way to carry filters around; very easy to access the individual compartments and each is foam-padded to protect the filters. The lack of a buckle is unfortunate; probably totally unnecessary with all the velcro, but I'd prefer the extra security.
My only real complaint is that the 'clip' on the back that attaches the pouch to a belt or bag is really wide, so it may be fine for other Tamrac products, but it's iffy getting it on other brands of bag, for instance. This is just silly: it doesn't need to be so wide and it could be much more compatible with other products (so that's probably WHY it's so wide...)

I'm always reaching for a microfiber cloth or polarizer or need a place for my lenscap and a spare memory card or two. This has proven to be the perfect size little "pack" hanging off my belt for grabbing these things on the fly. I also carry a few business cards in there. Just love it.

The bag is a bit bulkier than I would have liked and the comment about the dividers not going all the way down is right. But it does seem to give good separation. I haven't found anything else out there that works as well.

I ordered this to organize my growing inventory of filters. The bag works good but is a little bulky/big for my other bag. I have bought many Tamrac bags over the years and love Tamrac. But I admit that I may want a more slimmer filter bag. So if you have the room or want to carry outside a bag - this is great.

I've got two of them. What I like the best is that it's small enough to put in the pocket of my jacket or hang around my belt when I'm not carrying my camera bag.

I like this pack because it fits on my belt which is 2" wide ( hard to find packs and pouches with belt loops this wide). I carry 3 filters and my cell phone in it. Everything fits very nicely. No negatives.
