Kodak D-76 Developer is a classic multi-use black & white film developer. D-76 provides full emulsion speed and excellent shadow detail with normal contrast, and produces fine grain with a variety of continuous-tone black-and-white films. For greater sharpness, but with a slight increase in graininess, you can use a 1:1 dilution of this developer.
It yields a long density range, and its development latitude allows push processing with relatively low fog.

Comments about Kodak D-76 Developer (Powder) for Black and White Film:
Just started developing my on Film, so I went cheap with my chemicals for development. Very surprised on how well the negitives turned out. better than any thing I ever got from a photo lab. Don't see the need to go with a more exspensive brand. Also good for beginners because the developing time is on the package for all types of Kodak BW film. Doesn't develop c41 type film, so consider that when purchasing your film.

Comments about Kodak D-76 Developer (Powder) for Black and White Film:
I mix this in a 1 liter soda bottle, from which it is easy to use. 1 liter isn't much D-76, so if you plan to develop a lot of film, get the 1 gallon size. However, if you have just a handful of film in the next couple of months, this size is handy.
D-76 is a classic developer for good reason. You get excellent results with just about any film.

I use this product to develop PXP 120 film. It works consistently well, and I don't know what I would do without it.
