I was very pleased with this purchase. I purchased the stand based on its very low floor footprint, and its much lower price than some almost identical stands by other manufacturers. I needed a stand that would get underneath chairs where there was not much room. My primary use is for microphones and live music recording.
The unit is extremely versatile as it fully comes apart. The body can be attached to most clamps and other stands as it has the standard 3/8ths and 1/4th inch threaded adapter (one size at each end of the pole which clamps into its base). In addition there are holes drilled on one of the stands legs to attach either a 1/4th or 3/8ths threaded adapter, so another stand is easily attached to the same base.
I really am satisfied as it suites a great deal of situations for me, and I find the low to the ground leg configuration much more suited to the conditions that I record in.

This is a nice little stand, with a flaw listed below.Since it's two separate pieces, it's very compact when stored.
Expertise: Advanced amateur. Portrait Photography...
Problems Encountered: The nut on the bottom that holds the 3 legs to the stand itself comes loose constantly. This causes the stand to be fussy and not stand still unless the nut is tightened.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: I own 7 Impact light stands total. 1 of the above, 2 x 8ft, 2 x 13ft boom, 9.5ft heavy duty stand all from B&H...
Items I Recommend: Impact 9.5ft Heave Duty stand is awesome if you need a bigger stand...

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
The base is made of heavy metal. When the light pole is attached, it makes a competent background stand.

This stand is just what I was lacking in my portable studio setup. It is very useful with the opportunity to have your background light 3' off the floor or down at floor level. I would highly recommend that you get one for your background light.

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
It's nothing special backdrop stand. It has nothing special to note, and it has no obvious faults. It's not particularly heavy duty, but reasonably solidly made, I'd say comparable to light to medium-duty light stands. I don't feel it's easy to break.

The stand is well made. I like that the vertical bar is removable so you can literally mount a light right on the bottom of the tripod if you need light coming from the floor.

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
With the two sections I find this stand very versatile for two reasons. The legs are strong & foldable for compact storage (I like to be completely portable)and is tapped with a 1/4" & 3/8" holes to use a side stud(s). This stand also comes with a double ended stud 1/4" - 3/8" for my strobe at the floor level in the center. The top section extends out to three feet and is strong for reliable long term usage (I like that) I can also attach the top section to my super clamp making it even more versatile for my needs.

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
This is a very solid little stand that is very useful for mounting floor level lights and I have also used to hold flags. It takes very little room to store because of the way the stand separates from legs which also fold up. It also takes up very little floor space and is excellent in tight quarters. I have three of these stands in my kit.

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
5 Stars for the design and the money. The stand is really for background lights or hiding a light behind "cover". It is versatile with near ground level to 3'. Not heavy duty, but rarely is a heavy light needed in these situations. Throw a sandbag on the legs if you are worried about it tipping over. It is a great tool for the money.

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
The height of stand makes it a perfect background light stand. It also is great for hairlights. Even mounted with a strobe + reflector, it doesnt feel it will topple over. The base has a wide enough footprint to give the stand a stance.
I use the floor stand a lot when shooting interiors because it allows me to place the light low to the ground and out of site.

I was looking for an affordable, versatile and compact light stand for background lighting. This is it! Not only is the riser able to get close to the ground, the riser can be removed and replaced with a light stud, that is virtually at floor level!
The stand comes completely apart and folds for storage, without sacrificing strength and durability.
I am very pleased

Comments about Impact Two Section Back Light Stand - 3' (90cm):
This year I'm gearing up for much increased use of flash, both at work and on my own projects. I needed reliable, functional light stands at a good price and Impact has filled the bill. They might be a little bit too light duty if any of my projects included anyone rowdier than a new employee or a wedding guest, but so far so good.

Works fine and is heavy duty. I have another back light stand that is lighter and has the ability to mount the light very close to the floor. That would be a nice addition to this one.
