Sturdy. Better than the one I had. Only issue is that it doesn't support different size poles. If a pole from another manufacturer is just a bit smaller than the standard Manfrotto pole, it won't clamp down on it. Will need to get a spacer of sorts.

Excellent Quality 5 Stars! This is very solid and made from aluminum. You can secure an overhead boom without worring about it slipping or falling on the subject below. I do not a plastic clamp for any boom application.

I bought this clamp because I needed to be able to hold my boom arm with one hand and adjust the clamp with the other. This has worked perfectly for me, Very easy and just as I hoped it would be. I would like the part that you insert the boom arm into to have a thicker pad or coating to it. I had to wrap my boom arm with some gaffers tape for it to be tightly held.

This is a super clamp. I am using it with a non-traditional boom, the boom is really a painters extension handle from a local home improvement store. The clamp works perfectly and the boom is a "frugal photographers" tool. The clamp really holds the boom in-place.

...I would definitely buy this boom clamp, if I needed something this large and durable.
I meant to purchase a clamp for use with the Manfrotto mini boom arm, but this clamp was way too big for that small arm. Fortunately, the clamp I needed, was a bit cheaper and lighter. However, if you're setting up a long boom for use in a studio, you can't beat the build quality that this clamp offers.
