Canon DC-920 DC Coupler
The Canon DC-920 is a DC coupler for the GL-2 MiniDV camcorder. The coupler attaches to the camcorders's battery charger, allowing users to run the camera off of a common wall outlet. Using the DC-920 provides limitless power which can be very useful in a studio setting or wherever outlets are readily availible.

I have a Canon GL2 and the battery life on it is horrible, I was hired to record a dance recital and i was going to have to use at least 6 to 7 batteries per night recording. Now i have the power adapter and it has saved me from massive amounts of headaches. I would recommend this for any one planning on doing any long periods of recordings.

Th DC-920 does exactly what it is supposed to, it connects your Canon CA-920 (The standard battery charger that came with the Gl & XL series cameras) to the camera for unlimited run-time. My only complaints are minor, like the fact that when attached to the GL-2 the adapter has to be installed upside down putting unnecessary strain on the cord (The XL series camera are setup differently and this is not an issue with them). I also don't like the fact that you cannot charge a battery while powering the camera. All in all a good product, that in my opinion should have came with the cameras.

I lost my coupler during travel and was entirely handicapped in recording stage performances, given that even the extended battery life was not good enough for a continuous 4 hour shoot.
The coupler + a firewire cable (to send output to my mac instead of recording to tape) do the trick very well.

I bought this coupler to use with my Canon XL2 camera. It's awesome to use this instead of a battery if the camera is in one location for the entire shoot. Saves battery life, and I don't have to worry about the batteries dying during a shoot.
Only bad thing is that the cable isn't very long. After plugging it into the camera, the charger barely reaches the ground when my camera is on the tripod.

I purchased the DC-920 coupler to use with a DC-900 power supply because I purchased an XL-1 without a copuler. I went to [@] and purchaes a new conector to fit the older DC-900 and cut and rewired it to the end of the coupler. This is a good deal as it is hard to find the oler style copules for the XL-1.
