Carl DC-250 25" Heavy Duty Rotary Disk Cutter
The Carl Heavy Duty Rotary Trimmers is a rugged and well-designed trimmer for home and business use. The magnetic paper gauge holds your original in place during the trim. The cutting capacity is up to 20 sheets of standard paper - more than enough for most office purposes or for a decent-sized school class.

- Cuts up to 20 sheets of standard copy paper per cut
- Also cuts card stock, black core artist matboard, foamboard and plastic sheets
- Handy built-in storage area holds extra cutting blades and cutting mats
- Replacement "K-Series" blades, including perforating and scoring blades are available separately

After searching for a rotary cutter to trim my 17x22" fine art prints, I settled on this trimmer. The rail that holds down the materials to be cut can be raised allowing the the prints to be positioned carefully and without scratching the printed surface. Simple to use and accurate. My only con is that it's not exceptional at super fine detail. If I need to trim just a slight amount (1-3mm) the blade follows the already cut edge. Not a huge con.

Just started using the product as I'm printing my own work for the first time in earnest. The heavy duty disk cutter by Carl works great! I'm not sure as yet of itts long term durability thus the 4instead of 5 stars.

I'll lead off with the only -- the only -- negative: I'd love it even more if the base were wider. A 25" width would make it perfect.
Other than that, it's one of the best designed products of any kind I've ever bought, from the FULL-LENGTH clamping bar to the dead-accurate markings to the razor-sharp cutting blade...to the onboard storage for cutting blades and mats.
I've cut everything from bond to mat board, and it handles them all. Multiple pieces aren't a challenge -- you just have to make sure you do enough passes with the blade.
I bought some extra cutting and perforating (!) blades, as well as a couple of scoring (!) blades. All work perfectly, and all of them (plus two extra cutting mats) fit into the onboard storage compartment (in addition to the two extra blades and one extra mat that came with the cutter).
I'm printing photos on 24"-wide, and this cutter has been a life-saver. The magnetic guide makes lining up cuts a snap, and the clean cut edges are indistinguishable from the other original edge of the paper.
Don't look any further. This is it.
