Comments about Impact CX3000 Tabletop Tripod with Ball Head:
A great little tabletop tripod. I have a medium-sized digital camera (a Panasonic DMC-FZ8) and this little guy supports the camera very well. I've used it to get some close to the ground shots of small plants. I've been very happy with the results. The ball head was a big reason why I bought this model. The only downside to the tripod is if I try to position my camera in a veritcal position for a portrait orientation. While the ball head allows this orientation, it puts the entire weight of the camera on one side and the tripod's legs cannot be positioned wide enough apart to support the weight and tips over. So, I have to hold it down if I want to shoot portrait. But for the price, and the few number of times I actually want to orient my camera in this way, this is only a minor (and infrequent) irritation. I would imagine that with a thin point-and-shoot camera this probably wouldn't even be an issue.
