The Omni-Bounce creates a diffused bare bulb effect, giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format (and equal in other formats as well). The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off the flash in seconds with custom fitting (except for UNI model) and no touch fastener. Designed for years of service without the bulk of some other diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into a gadget bag or pocket.

A great space saver in my bag (wedding photographer). I bought this item to potentially replace my Lightsphere II. It is almost as good. Perhaps it doesn't provide the same wide-angle coverage of light (especially below waist-height) as the Lighsphere - but this is only noticeable when comparing shots side-by-side.
To save space in your bag, this is a great solution, and you're not missing out a great deal by using a larger device like the Lighsphere II.

The primary advantage of any Stofen diffuser in my view, is convenience. They are fast, very easy, and portable. When utilized in the limited window of applications for which they're suited, the effect is quite nice. The issue is that it's somewhat of a tradeoff. You sacrifice a lot of versatility for sheer convenience. The greatest benefit from this product is gained in the vicinity of a low white or neutral ceiling in more of an intimate environment. In an environment where the ceiling is high or virtually non existent, there is too much wasted light and only a negligible advantage over direct flash. If you're considering it as more of a wide diffuser for use with wider lenses, it can be helpful in that area. A way to improve this product in my opinion, would be offering a removable cap. That would give you the option of pointing the bare flash directly towards the ceiling. You would then achieve the full effect of the flash on the ceiling, while still lighting the rim of the diffuser enough to throw some fill light towards the subject.

Problems Encountered: None. It's just a more aesthetically pleasing approach to an old trick. The same effect can be accomplished with the bottom of a plastic bottle of rubbing alcohol. It primarily looks more professional, and is custom fitted to the specific flash unit. Although it does indeed work, it's essentially a piece of plastic that you pay a fair amount for.

The Omni-Bounce exceeded my expectations. Never would have I expected such great results from a simple low-cost snap-on attachment. Count me as completely satisfied.

Item does not fit securely on the flash head. Any little bump causes it to fall off. Just like an engineer not to field test their product before producing.

I use this with an SB-80. It doesn't fit extremely securely, but it stays on. It does have a couple tabs that keep it from triggering the automatic zoom out setting.

Good product, better than the Nikon one. Allows more light to be put out as it does not trigger the 14 mm sensor. i would buy again.

The Omni-Bounce is small and lightweight, but does the job better than the other on-flash diffuser I own. The design allows light to bounce off the ceiling or wall and send some direct to the subject for a nice catchlight in the eyes.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-SB5 Omni-Bounce for Nikon & Sony:
I love the portability of this diffuser and it works beautifully in many situations. I would not recommend it in dark churches/catering halls though and it has fallen off my flash a few times. I wish it had a more stable connection.
Comments about Sto-Fen OM-SB5 Omni-Bounce for Nikon & Sony:
Used as directed this simple accessory is great for the price paid. I paid $50 +/- for a different on flash reflector but am sorry that I paid the extra money. The Sto-Fen does an equally effective job for 1/3 the cost.
