The cable is great and works well. The only downside, and it's a pretty big one, is the price. If you have the money then go for it as the cable is solid and gets the job done.

If you work with a mixer to feed audio to a camera, this breakaway cable is essential. Makes moving camera/sound around much quicker when you have an easy connection without having to unplug from camera.

I use this to tether a sound devices 442 mixer to whatever camera I am using.
It is used in professional TV/video production.
The 442 comes with a muti-pin snake, but since it has an extre set of balanced XLR's out- this cable works ideally to set up a two camera shoot!
You can run sound to both camera and monitor return as well.
I purchased this in an emergency as a back-up snake, but habe been impressed with its design and construction- I especially like the headphone tap on the oigtail end that allows both camera operator as well as sound engineer to monitor audio return!
The only draw back is the cable to the return works with most cameras that have the headphone jack in the back of the camera, but is too short for my HL-DV7 which has the jack in the front.

I use this cable on all my jobs as a sound mixer. The PSC cable is only a few dollars more but I went with the Canare/BH cable. Though the XLR portion of this cable haven't failed me, the "confidence" cable that you plug into the camera's headphone out is only sending me a mono signal and the split out to the cameraman is mono too. If I wiggle it enough I get stereo but It was like this from the start. I have to get the wiring fixed. Right now I tape a 25' male to male 1/4'' audio cable to this to get by. I should have gone with PSC. My reccomendation is to buy two 20' XLR's connect them to two 5' XLRs and use 20' + 5' headphone extention cords, Tape them together nicely and save yourself at least 150 dollars.

This is a vital accessory for your field mixer. The quick connector is easy to use and is very secure. I leave the camera end tethered and I can quickly disconnect with one hand when necessary.

I use this cable everyday with my PSC mixer. The cable is very well shielded and has quality ends. Never have had any noise or interference. No complaints.
