Velbon's Neo Carmagne 740 quietly sets a high standard for combined support, versatility & ease of operation. It has what are quite possibly the greatest locking collets created, offering the small amount of movement needed(versus flip levers) without the annoying unwanted rotations & operational order traditionally associated with twisting leg locks. The three positions of leg spread offers normal, semi-low and full-low angle shooting. The two-piece rapid center column detaches appropriately, accessing the full range of height. The legs feature a maximum 32mm diameter tube of cross-layered carbon fiber material.
Velbon's Carmagne series responds to the demands for a lightweight durable tripod, offering superior strength and specifications while being one third lighter than their conventional aluminum counterparts. Carbon fiber is also more resilient to temperature changes.

Comments about Velbon Neo Carmagne 740 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
I use this primarily for nature photography and steadying my camera for macro work. It's very sturdy, the padded upper legs are a nice feature, and the retractable spikes are fantastic when I need to stabilize in a muddy, slippery environment. It's not the lightest tripod out there, but it supports my D300 and 300mm lens very well.

Comments about Velbon Neo Carmagne 740 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs:
This is a wonderful tripod and it's very well built. I use this with the Wimberly II head, my 200-400mm VR lens with a D300 and grip. Holds everything well.
