Hakuba HG-504MX Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs with 3-Way Pan Head

The HG-504MX is Hakuba's high quality carbon fiber tripod, which is more rigid than aluminum with much better vibration dampening. The controls are easy to use; just a quarter-turn will open or close the twist leg locks, making for fast setup and takedown. The legs come with Urethane leg protectors on top section, for better handling in cold weather. Like all carbon fiber, the resistance to temperature extremes is far greater than metal due to the low specific heat capacity.

I needed a solid light weight tripod for my Sony fx-7 video camera. This one has worked very well for 2 years now. When I fly, I pack it with my cloths in a suitcase, and when I hike, it straps to my backpack camera bag. I wish it came with some type of center column leveling to speed set-up for video.

This Tripod is an excellent tripod and it is too bad it is not more popular. Excellent in its design and stability. It can hold 15lbs which is a lot more than the Manfrotto ones. Carbon Fiber, you can't ask for more! I did research and found this was the best tripod I could find for the money. They say don't skimp on your tripod and this was the winner.
The only things I have found wrong with it is the head. I don't like the head. No quick release system. The head doesn't fit in the bag that comes with it. I'm saving up for a head.
But other than that I couldn't be happier with the purchase and I'm amazed at how sharp I have gotten pictures and wondered why I didn't buy a carbon tripod to begin with. Of course it's not Gitzo--the reason for 4 stars, but for serious amateur, such as myself, it is an incredible buy!

I looked and looked at all the carbon fiber tripods.I went to every photo shop around here.After all was said and done the Hakuba HG-504MX turned out to be as good as any I spent gas to go try out.I love it now that I have had a chance to use it out in my invironment,which is standing at the edge of the ocean shooting pic.s of surfers.
B&H delievered it in just a few days right to my front door.
