Photoflex Speed Ring for Lumedyne
This Photoflex Series 900 Speed Ring allows mounting of any shaped Photoflex (or other brand) softbox to a Lumedyne flash head.
OctoDome rotating connectors are made from heat resistant cast aluminum for durability. They allow rotation while mounted to your fixture with your choice of any shaped softbox.
Note: A heavy duty swivel mount is included to transfer the weight of the Octodome from the head to your light stand.

I purchased the speed ring so that I could use my Westcott softboxes with my Quantum flash. The speed ring works flawlessly for doing this. It now allows me to have a convenient portable flash, yet I can use my large softboxes for extremely soft lighting.

This a good quality connector. I have only one issue with it. Since the quantum flash can't support the weight of the bigger softboxes, you have to use a lightstand "umbrella mount" to allow for tilt, swing movements. This pretty much makes the inner rotating ring worthless. Granted it will keep your flash straight up and down as you adjust the softbox through a 90 degree rotation, but it doesn't allow the rotation of the softbox without physically taking the softbox off the lightstand connector, rotating it manually, and then remounting it. Not a chore I want to do when I am working with fast moving children in my studio. If you buy this I recc. aslo buying the lightstand connector and 2 extra 3/8" stud lightstand adapters. Then mount the studs in the horizontal, vertical, and 45 degree positions in the outer ring so you can rotate the box without having to unscrew a connector and screw it into another hole on the adapter ring every time. I really wished they would revamp this so the inner ring had the lightstand mount and the outer ring could rotate freely to allow for softbox rotation. Otherwise it meets the needs and is very solid.

Actually I thought the product was a bit fragile just by looking at the picture but when i actually
got the item boy was I wrong. this item is very durable to do the job it was meant for.Am glad I brought the item because it actually saved me a whole lot of money for what I was trying to do with off camera flash.This item works great and I am a satisfied customer.
