Comments about Canon WC-DC58N 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
I'm doing quite a bit of indoor shooting with my Canon HF-S10 camcorder and it's amazing the difference in how much of a room becomes visible.
I've taken a couple landscape photos that have come out phenomenal. Some people have complained about it "putting black" on the edges of images with solutions like "just zoom in a bit". I have had NO SUCH PROBLEMS. It must be the camera they are using..
I like that I can use it on my other cameras (same 58mm screw mount).
I did loose a big of focusable area when I zoomed at something far away or extremely close, but I expected that. The purpose of this lens is to give you a greater field of view. It did make my camera a little front heavy but that because my cam is ridiculously light. :)
Like the title says, loving it! great lens for the price!

Comments about Canon WC-DC58N 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
I don't understand how Canon could put so much work into designing a nice hunk of glass like this while ignoring (and not mentioning) that significant vignetting occurs in actual use. All 4 corners of the images are black, and they are uneven too (more on the right side). The whole point of this is to give you a wider view - which it does but you lose a significant portion of the image with blacked-out corners! People have said "I just zoom in a little to get rid of it" - well I did this and then compared the field of view with the wide lens removed, and guess what - the field of view was the same then! So it means that you gain absolutely nothing with this lens if you set the zoom such that there is no vignetting showing. Very disappointing, it goes back to B&H along with the adaptor.

Comments about Canon WC-DC58N 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
[...]Would not hesitate to deal with B&H again; thoroughly professional.Lens is heavy and pricey but also excellent. Results exactly what I expected from Web reviews & samples.NB! One minor fault is severe Blue Chromatic Aberration in high contrast over-exposure situations. In practice this rarely occurs and the average viewer might not notice this effect as it occurs only on dark areas adjacent overexposed highlights; e.g. on branches & foliage against an overexposed sky. My Camera is a Canon A720IS.
Comments about Canon WC-DC58N 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
This lens will physically vignette...you will see therounded off blackness of the inside of the lens in thecorners of your preview screen. Just zoom in a little bit toremove them. Even so this wide angle lens as an accessorydoes exactly as it is marketed to do so. My first test of itwas in my small office at work. My original preview showedonly some of my chair and a portion of the desk. Aftermounting the lens and zooming just a bit, the preview was ofmy whole chair, entire desk, floor, wall and a portion ofthe ceiling. I was impressed. Additionally, you will needthe Canon LADC58G lens adapter. There are features to theadapter which are not advertised by Canon or by retailers.Mounted to the camera without the lens, it functions asshade hood. Additionally the adapter accepts 58mm filtersand lens caps. I recommend this lens and especially theadapter as a filter mount for any avid or pro photographerusing a Canon A series camera, who seeks to expand theircreativity.

Comments about Canon WC-DC58N 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens:
With the addition of a Canon LA-DC58F Lens Adapter and this lens for my A620, I was pleased to gain the additional width in my photos. IQ was not affected. The body of the lens is plastic that matches the adapter. The 3.7 dia. of the lens looks HUGE on the A620, which is rather funny. I've received several wow nice camera comments from passers by which I think is funny considering my A620 is two years old and has been through thick and thin.
