I had broken my original eye cup and quickly found out how useful it is. However, if I were Canon, I would definitely make the rubber section a deeper profile, like you used to see with older cameras- much like the effect of a lens shade. That would allow you to have a deeper, more flexible space between your eye and the camera body.

How do you use the product? Stick it on the viewfinder.
Things that are great about it? Comfortable, keeps light from the sides off your eye to help look at the viewfinder, makes the camera look brand new still.
Things that aren't so great about it?
You will lose it, guaranteed. Or it'll break. I kept getting lucky with people walking up to me after a shoot asking if the eyecup was mine, well of course it was mine! But the darned thing had fallen off again. Then it was time to order a new one, since I totally lost it.
These things are too expensive to keep replacing. I'm looking for something to make it stickier, but not permanently attached.

Bought this to replace one that I lost off my T2i / 550D. If you are looking for a replacement eyecup, just make sure you search through the various types to find the correct match to your DSLR body; there are a few different units.

Eyecup Ef works fine with my Rebel XTi camera. It was a replacement for original. It is plastic, so not strong. Have to be careful when removing camera from case, it will come off the camera.

The eyecup is pretty easy to knock off of the camera. I lost one after owning a T1i for 2 months and had to replace it, and I never lose any of my belongings. If it didn't cost as much as it did it wouldn't be a problem. The price is a little unreasonable for a piece of plastic.
Also, the rubber piece on the eyecup that provides padding peels off very easily. I don't know if it's just the one I originally had on my camera but I wish the rubber was at least glued to the eyecup. I wish the eyecup as a whole attached to the viewfinder more securely.
