The Gates F1000ES Strobe is an external housing for the Sony HVL-F1000 flash. This dedicated flash is for the Sony F707 and F717 cameras. It offers complete compatability with either system. When not in use, the flash unit automatically powers down to conserve battery life.
The flash has a dedicated Gates style connection and should be ordered with the housing for the port to be installed. Otherwise, the housing can be sent to Gates to have the flash connection port installed.
