Swarovski's High Density glass lenses nearly eliminate optical distractions such as color fringing and a lack of color-rendition. In fact - the optical refinements of the ATS-80 HD offer a field of view with intricately-patterned subjects with crisp delineation - a feature that enthusiastic birders will greatly appreciate.

Optically as close to perfect as there is. Spectacular low light performance. Swarovski accessories and customer service are second to none. Especially on the angled models the rotation ring and lock are priceless, the only problem is that with the Swarovski view through case you cannot rotate the scope body.

The scope and 20-60 eyepiece are awesome tools for birding and similar. Super-sharp images edge to edge, great low-light performance, extremely solid yet weight is reasonable. The 101 tripod seems fine, although I'm not impressed with the 101 fluid head. But the package with tripod and head costs very little more than the scope plus zoom eyepiece.

I am very pleased with the quality of this scope. Excellent clarity! I am also pleased with the ease of use. The 20X60 eyepiece makes finding things a breeze. I am pleased that I got the angled scope in that it can easily be used by persons of different heights without resetting it... and I seldom do birding alone. I was a bit disappointed however to find that I can't easily turn the eyepiece from side to side with the cover on. I may use the cover less often than I had hoped.

I have to the chance to view several high end brands of spotting scopes at the same time and at same target which was several lines of type at different sizes. The different was very clear to me then on the quality of this scope over the others. Down side is it is on the high end of the price tag.
