Works well with Yamaha grand piano.
Bought this one because the equivalent Yamaha product was out of stock. Windows recognized and automatically installed the driver, but then I ran into issues- Windows did not show up any midi interface despite the hardware being recognized and driver installing ok. After much research and hunting on the internet found that the issue is related to my Logitech webcam driver. It seems this issue affects other usb midi interfaces also. To save you the trouble of tracking down the fix for this, here is what I found (in a forum) and now works perfectly:
1. Go into the registry editor (go to Start Menu, Run and type regedit)
2. Go to this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
and delete the two items "LowerFilters" and "UpperFilters"
3. Go to this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11DO-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
and delete the item "LowerFilters"
4. Go to this location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC5-810F-11DO-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
and delete the item "UpperFilters"
5. Move back to the root of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\
6. Launch a search (i.e Ctrl F with the option to search in "Data") and type "LVUSBSTA". For any place found (only in the "Control\Class" area), just delete the "LowerFilters" item (it is the item that contain the value LVUSBSTA found).
7. Then uninstall the midi device driver, unplug it and plug it back in. Windows should recognise it and install it and it should work!

Comments about M-Audio MIDISport UNO MIDI Interface:
I am using this product to link a CME UF8 keyboard to OSX Lion. Previously the USB interface on the CME worked with snow leopard but not with lion. There was no install necessary I plugged it in and it works with the core Midi drivers from Lion. It is fast with no noticeable delays and works well even with the control surface events. This product allowed me to upgrade my music station to Lion.

Comments about M-Audio MIDISport UNO MIDI Interface:
This is the perfect 1 I/O MIDI to USB cable and most importantly, it works within Windows 7 64 bit!At the present time, most (if not all) of the inexpensive MIDI to USB cables do not have 64 bit support, however the MIDISport UNO trumps the competition, [...] you can easily download it from the M-Audio site.The main reason I needed this was to connect to my microKORG to back-up my patches, but recently I have been triggering the MK from Ableton's MIDI out and it's always tight and always on time...near zero delay/zero latency.If you need a simple MIDI interface that supports Win7/64 bit, then this is definitely for you!

If you need USB midi, you can't get it any easier than this. Just load in the driver and you are off and running. The midi end is nicely labled ("TO MIDI IN","TO MIDI OUT". I own three.

Comments about M-Audio MIDISport UNO MIDI Interface:
I recently merged between two worlds of physical music equipment and music recording software. I became aware that the best method of doing this some time ago was to go with a usb/midi interface. After much research, the midisport UNO quickly ranked at the top of my list for pricing and effectiveness for what I wanted done. Their website provides all the driver updates needed and ran like gangbusters when all set up! I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to bridge the gap between physical production and software production and bring the best of both worlds together. (I am currently bridging my Korg Triton, Nord Lead 2, Mpc 2000xl, Korg d16 to FL Studio 8 Producer edition.)

This MIDI interface saves you from having to buy seperate input and output cords. The unit indicates what configuration it is in with display lights. Just plug it in to your keyboard and a USB port and you are ready to go. Easy, simple and effective.

Comments about M-Audio MIDISport UNO MIDI Interface:
We have two MIDI keyboards of different brands (Yamaha and Casio) and it worked for both of them with slightly different results, but both were quite satisfactory and would consider purchasing another just so that both of them could be used at the same time.
We use this in conjunction with Apple's GarageBand and works like a charm-- it's basically plug-n-play. We would use our MIDI keyboard to key in notes with whatever software instrument track that was available as it records them.
Overall, we would recommend this for those that don't have the money to spend on an actual USB MIDI Keyboard, but have an old working keyboard with a MIDI interface. Or for those that just needs a quick and affordable connection from keyboard to computer, but don't need the extra features from higher-end audio boxes.
