Despite all the poor reviews, I went ahead and got this. The first thing I did was check it for accuracy. It gave wrong and inconsistant readings. Before I could call to return it, it got knocked off the table and the dome part broke. Don't waste your time with this piece of garbage.

When I first read about this product I thought it was going to be easy to use and understand. But once I received it it wasn't as easy as I thought. I had no problems with using the reflected meter but the incident meter wouldn't give me a reading no matter what light I was under.

As long as you only use this product for reflective metering, then its a good deal for the price.

I shoot film, and rely on my Sekonic. Knowing that it isn't going to last forever, I have purchased this as a backup. It stays at my studio now in case I forget my Sekonic, or my Sekonic dies.

This meter required calibration out of box. You can calibrate it with guide numbers if your GNs are accurate, or up against another meter which is what I recommend.

I have had to re-calibrate a couple times in the last two years of ownership.

It's a back-up. But due to it requiring calibration from time-to-time, it isn't reliable because if I need to use it, it is because my Sekonic isn't. I am now shopping for a brand-new Sekonic.

No matter what I do, it always stuck at f32. I had to return it and bought Polaris flash meter, which works like a charm.

easy to set up, however the battery was a bit difficult to put in. I just couldn't get a good reading on the meter with my flash system. I finally held the meter up to the light just to see it it was working and finally got a read... overexposed of course! Well, don't know what I'm doing wrong but it doesn't work for me. Will be sending the product back and will spend the money to get something that will work.

If you are wondering how to set up a studio on a tight budget, don't think about it, just buy one of these. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king, at 1/6 the price of Sekonic.

It self-triggers, no cord needed if you use radio slaves. I had no problem with the battery fit, though tight. I had no problem with meter readings at common ISO figures when I remembered to match the ISO on the meter to the camera manual setting.

So, I probably am using the product wrong, however, when I try to get a meter reading, it doesn't work unless I am about 1/4 power or higher, OR I am holding the light meter like 6 inches from the light source. When I do get a reading, running in like 100 ISO, I can never get a lower f-stop reading than 16. It doesn't really work well for me.

Bought this meter as a crutch to help me get back into portrait work... I have had some dificulty using it outdoors, but otherwise it works great... I think the battery problem is a case of having to be smarter than the battery, and I think my problems with it outdoors is the same sort of thing...

I use this in a home studio for portraits and out in the field for wedding formals. Easy to use, very few settings. No negatives so far.

I use this as a backup meter (moreover, my assistant double checks me using this meter). It is spot on accurate. I bought it quite by accident when I dropped my Sekonic L-358 off a bridge where I was doing a fashion shoot. I had to run into town and the only photo store had this one meter. I had to make do, and was astonished with the accuracy and consistent readings.

I use it all the time in my home studio and it always measures dead on with my more expensive meters. If you need a cheap, accurate flash meter, this has got to be it.

There isn't a lot of functionality and control, but it gives you enough to accurately measure flash readings. I've read reviews about the battery compartment, but I replace the batteries so infrequently that I never paid attention to it.

I purchased this meter for location shoots. I have read where some users have had problems with the battery door. Even with this negative feedback I decided at this price I would give it a try. I was able to load the 9 volt battery with little trouble, although it was tight. However more importantly the meter is spot on and also gives partial f stop measurements for an accurate reading. I have yet to try it for incident light readings but in the studio with strobes or flash it meters every bit as well as my Shepard meter.

I dont like that the incident light sphere has to be removed which means it can be lost easily. I would have liked to see a sliding sphere for incident light metering instead.

Very easy to use flashlight meter. Just select your ASA/ISO and flash the light either with a sync cord directly from the flash meter or with your camera. Camera set to its sync speed (in my case 125)and this little baby show the apperature setting. Interfit service is great. My first flash meter did not work and was directly replaced by Interfit. The only thing that's a bit hard to do is to place the battery in it's tight compartment and close the lid. It takes a bit to get it done, but it will fit and close completly.

Studio flash with a 5 stop range would only read 3 stops of light on meter. With battery installed cover will not fit properly. Intermittant operation. At ISO 1000 I could not get a reading with low light. No ISO 800 setting. I bought this meter yesterday and am bringing it back to the store today.

Bought it. First photo shoot, readings were intermittent.After a while, I got frustrated and just trusted myhistograms. It's gonna take a trip with me for another shootsoon...at the shooting range.
