Tivoli Model 1 Henry Kloss AM/FM Table Radio
If you're looking for performance and simplicity but have little space then the Tivoli's Model One Table-Top Radio in Walnut and Beige will suit you just fine. This model recalls a simpler time when things looked easy and felt comfortable. But behind this sleek exterior is a thunderous technological boom of quality in sound. A furniture-grade, handmade wood cabinet works as an acoustically inert housing unit. The heavy-magnet, long-throw 3" driver works hand in hand with a multistage frequency contouring circuit that adjusts the output over half-octave increments. All of this technology gives you a musically accurate tonal balance with base response that is stunning.
Model One has also borrowed liberally from other technology to create the best radio on the market. Using cell phone technology, a GaAs MES-FET mixer is used for FM tuning to increase clarity and enhance reception. The geared-down 5:1 tuning ratio adds to the ease and accuracy of channel tuning while the amber tuning light keeps track of your channel selection.

I started out thinking I wanted a Bose Wave Radio. While checking out the online reviews for the Bose, another name kept popping up. Reviewers frequently recommended the Tivoli Model One instead. The more I read about the Model One, the more I was convinced I had found what I was looking for. I wanted a small audio player for my office. It needed to have an auxiliary input for my laptop. Impressions: It's smaller than I expected, which isn't a bad thing. It fits nicely on my desk. I'm also pleased with the retro styling. I don't think I will get tired of the look. The unit feels solid and well made. The sound is great. Overall, it's a simple solution that does exactly what I want. Perhaps a bit pricey for mono sound.

Pro: Beautiful simplicity; great sound.
Con: Mono only (but don't really miss it); price.
I purchased this for my elderly father because a stroke diminished his ability to manage all the buttons on today's radios. The Model One solved everything... easy to use, (relatively) easy to read the dial, and sounds fantastic. Voice is particularly clear. Stereo would be nice, but Dad doesn't miss it.
It's expensive, but build quality is terrific and used ones are selling for almost the price of a new one. Why not get the free (and very fast) shipping and buy a brand new one from B&H? Easy decision for me, and dad loves it!

This radio is much smaller than the KLH but produces the same full rich sound of its predesessor.

My wife wanted a radio she could place in the kitchen to enjoy her favorite stations as well as her mp3 device. After disappointment with a well-known under the counter unit, I discovered through a co-worker the Henry Kloss. What a great sound coming out of an unassuming little radio. Got alot of channels without any external antenna(supplied). Love the retro look as well.

For anyone who still loves listening to the radio the Tivoli radio model one,
Has a great sound quality! Even my boyfriend a recording engineer said '' nice low end'' when he walked in the room and heard it for the first time!! You can also hook your ipod with a mini to mini wire connector, thus enabling you to listen to your favorite playlists and songs. It's compact and beautiful design and colors are sure to go anywhere in your home.
I'm planning on keeping this one for a long time!!!
My whole family now owns one tivoli radio at home!!

I wanted a nice sounding FM/AM radio without all the electronic mumbo-jumbo most radios have now. This radio has a beautiful, all round sound. No heavy bass but still nice. I bought the external AM antenna and that makes a big difference. FM reception is really excellent and the unit is superbly crafted. Henry Kloss...thank you!
