Tivoli Model Two AM/FM Table Radio (Metallic Taupe)
If you're looking for natural stereophonic simplicity and beauty, then the Tivoli's Model Two AM/FM Stereo Table-Top Radio (Metallic Taupe) is what you need. This model separates the right and left speaker with up to 15 feet of cable. The heavy-magnet, long-throw 3" driver works hand in hand with a multistage frequency contouring circuit that adjusts the output over half-octave increments. All of this technology gives you a musically accurate tonal balance with bass response that is stunning. A mixing input allows computer audio to be mixed with radio while a dedicated sub woofer output gives you balance control.
Model Two has also borrowed liberally from other technology to create the best radio on the market. Using cell phone technology, a GaAs MES-FET mixer is used for FM tuning to increase clarity and enhance reception. The geared-down 5:1 tuning ratio adds to the ease and accuracy of channel tuning while the amber tuning light keeps track of your channel selection.
- True Stereo
- To get a true stereo sound you need both a right and left speaker, with the Model Two you get both with 15 feet of cord to separate the two for true stereo sound.
- Mixing Input
- The Model Two takes the technology of the Model One a step further with the addition of a mixing input, which allows you to mix computer audio with that of the radio.
- Subwoofer
- If you decide to purchase the optional subwoofer the Model Two comes with its own dedicated subwoofer output and a balance control for ultimate audio quality.
- Fits in Tight Spaces
- The brass ports are located in the back so you can place your Model Two vertically if space is tight in your home.
- Auxiliary Position
- The front source knob has an auxiliary position so it's easier for your to hear the optional Model CD or other accessory devices.
- 3-Inch Driver

- State of the Art Tuner
- Rather than being satisfied with an integrated circuit, Henry Kloss has incorporated state of the art technology into his Model One with the addition of the GaAs MES-FET mixer for better reception and increased clarity.
- 5:1 Tuning Ratio
- The geared-down 5:1 tuning ratio permits easy and accurate tuning and the addition of an amber tuning indicator makes finding your favorite channel even easier.
- Built-in and More
- Built in AM and FM antennas give you superb reception but if you happen to be in a reception-poor area then the 75-ohm jack lets you attach an external FM antenna for even better reception.

This radio is stripped of all the obvious gadgetry of the digital age which is a good thing. It is so simple and yet sounds so amazingly good. It is versatile and the ipod or anything else you want to plug into it is just that: plug and play. I liked it so well this is the second one I've purchased.

I have this in my bedroom and it is turned on day in and day out. The sound coming from two such small wood boxes is absolutely amazing! It fills the entire bedroom so clearly that if it is turned up and I am down the hall, I often do a double take and think someone else is in the house since the sound is so crystal clear.

These were great! The sound is fantastic, the radio reception is solid, and the design is beautiful. Fits great in both classically-themed and modern rooms. Wish the LEDs were dimmer, but great overall!

Looks good in furniture grade cherry.
Bought as a kitchen radio. The radio and the detachable speaker come in identical wooden cases; both take up little space and together they provide true stereo.
Sound is good for a table radio, a little thin on the base without the optional woofer.
The analog dial is somewhat hard to read and set accurately to a station. Once set, the tuner holds the frequency.

I bought this for the tuner. The mountains in my area are tough on radio signals. It pulls many distant stations. Build quality is excellent, as is the sound. May purchase the matching subwoofer.

Bought this radio for a large one-room office and mostly use it with my computer or ipod. (I had to buy an audio cable for this purpose - Tivoli doesn't include one in the box.)The sound quality on the radio setting is really great - it somehow seems to get better reception than other radios. But when I use it on the Aux setting with one of my other electronic devices, the sound is noticeably muddy and the bass can really overwhelm the treble.Still, I'm glad I bought it and it basically meets my needs. Plus it's really attractive, and I bought it at B&H for $100 less than at [...]!

the sound out of this little unit is simply outstanding. whether from the fm radio or using it with the model cd player.(i already had the model cd) very easy to set up right out of the box. the reception to the am/fm stations worked very well and that big dial makes it easy to fine tune to your favourite radio station. i was attracted to the design of the radio at first and looked up some reviews on the sound quality and found them almost all favorable.
my only gripe though, is that the colour of the wood did not match 100% between the two cabinets. i called bh photo and was very relieved that they would exchange it for me without any problems.
i will still give the radio five stars. it's that good.
