I have used this nearly non stop for two days. The sound reproduction is incredibly high quality. The compactness is a plus and it is really integrated with my other Tivoli components. It is built like a tank internally. The value for the price is something else. I like it as well as a couple of far more expensive component systems I have. Totally fills a large room with rich tones.

Don't know how B&H does it. MUCH, MUCH lower price than ANY other seller[...] As a Henry Kloss enthusiast, I own every radio he designed from the KLH Model Eight to the Tivoli Model One. The Tivoli CD matches the Model One, but I bought it to go with my 1960 KLH Model Eight tube radio and Model Thirteen stereo adapter. It's a mini component system. Plug this (or any) CD player into the AUX input and enjoy CDs through a vintage TUBE amp! The Tivoli radio was modeled after the original KLH Model Eight and Model Twenty-One, so the Tiv CD fits in great. Only minor gripe: Wish it were available (at this price) with the walnut case and beige faceplate.

So simple, so sleek, so cool. Ok it doesn't have a disc changer and won't flip burgers for you, but it does exactly what an old-school CD player should do - play discs - with an upgrade to mp3 discs and other mod-cons. It does so with typical Tivoli elan; how do they get such magnificent sound out of such teeny weenie speakers??
Nothing not to love about Tivoli.

It's hard to find a free standing cd player with the connectivity to connect to a hi-fi system. I hooked this up to my old Marantz receiver and immediately had great sound. Simple, basic, good sound. No plastic case, no bells and whistles, only what I need in an elegant package.

The first unit I received in the mail made a loud grinding sound as it ate my cd. It would not eject it, even after trying the "tip" given by the manufacturer. I ended up returning the player with my cd intact. B&H rep said they would try and retrieve it and send it back but so far I have not received it or heard back from the company. This was fairly recent so I'm still hoping to get my cd. The second player is great. My brother owns a Tivoli radio and highly recommended it. Both radio and cd player are awesome. I enjoy both the looks and the sound. I only wish I could play more than one cd at a time!

I use this in conjunction with a Tivoli Model 2 radio and sub-woofer, and with a Tivoli Satellite Radio but have also used it solo with a pair of Klipsh deskstop (PC) speakers with exccellent results in both configurations.
The sound is exceptional, clear, beautiful with an excellent range. The controls are friednly and even idiot-proof enough for a Ludite like me to use without damage.
In short, in my experience this is the best stand-alone cd player in its price range.
One final note: After price-comparing everywhere, this site offered by far the best price.
