Petrol PMH-1 Mini Hood - for Small Camcorders with 2.5" LCD Monitors
The Petrol PMH-1 Mini Hood is made to fit small camcorders with 2.5" diameter LCD panel on the monitor. The two-piece monitor hood reduces glare especially in bright sunlight. The hood is made of lightweight padded fabric with rigid internal panels. Mini Hoods can be positioned 90° or 180° on the monitor.

Here in Tucson we have lots of very bright sunshine. Seeing the LCD screen is quite impossible. This little hood does a good job shading the screen from the sun. May take a minute or 2 to understand how it unfolds and how to attach the hood, but I'm 65 and I did it. Another 15 seconds to get it positioned over the screen the way you like it. I was pleasantly surprised with just how well it's made for such a low price. A plus is that it folds down for easy storage.

I use this for filming football. It works great and I love two piece design. Having the ability to choose if I want the extra extension to block light or not use it when I need freedom to move quickly without adjusting the angle of the LCD.
When folded up it takes uo almost no room in my camera bag...very nice!

Love using this in harsh sunlight, blocks everything out. It even works on my larger LCD screen on my HDR-AX2000, just cuts off the edges a tad. Got it for free too so no complaints!

It came free with my camera bag so I have no real complaints. The hood is too small for my lcd but still works. I just line up the edges to the safe lines. This hood is very well constructed and blocks out sun glare completely.

I got this mini hood free with my purchase of a Petrol camcorder bag.
The mini-hood works well with my JVC GY-HM100U camcorder which is pretty small. The flip out lcd screen is compact & close to the camera not allowing a lot of clearance, but the mini hood fits in there well.
I recommend it, I would buy it if it didn't come free with my bag!
