It's difficult to get excited over a rear lens cap... until I saw this one. The well-built construction and sleek lines make the perfect accessory which your friend will be envious of. It has a positive locking action which hangs onto your precious lenses like white on rice. I've tried other lens caps and let me tell you... it's a lens cap. Good quality.

I like this lens cap for the fact that it is oversize. It gives you a nice big diameter to use in applying the torque needed to put it on or take it off quickly. It is very helpful to have an extra lens cap while juggling lenses; it means that you can cap and protect the lens you just took off, and can stash the one from the other lens before putting it on the camera.

To make it easier to use this cap, you need to add a little drop of White-Out next to the alignment notch (black plastic on more black plastic doesn't give much CONTRAST at dawn, eh?). In other words, of the 3 ways that this cap might initially FEEL like it fits OK, only one will actually WORK. The other two ways will simply not fully turn and affix, but rather fall off. The notch ONLY matches up with the orange dot of the lens, and won't work in other positions.

Despite this "drawback," this cap is much better than what Pentax supplies, and since one came with a Tamron lens I own, I got a chance to compare and contrast with standard-issue Pentax; I like this better, and so I bought the Tamron, and did not even price any other alternatives.

This Tamron rear lens cap is on par with the quality of the original Pentax caps. However, its design makes it larger than other rear caps I've used. Its height is slightly greater, and its diameter is noticeably larger. It's about the same diameter as the entire lens of a typical Pentax prime, rather than just covering the mount like other caps.

I have more than one of these. I find sometimes they only attach snugly in one of three orientations (each 120 degrees apart).

I recommend it for its quality construction at this price, if you don't mind the larger size and sometimes having to put it on more than once to get a snug fit.
