First off, I would have to agree with a previous reviewer about how dumb it is to try to move this when it's attached to a camera. Not a smart move. Very similar to trying to use a tripod as a steadycam. It'll work, but not well. With that said, this XLR adapter is quite good for it's price.
-Works well
-Low noise,
-No additional power required,
-Overall a sturdy piece of equipment.
It was no use with my Canon T2i so I use my HF10 to record the sound and sync it in post production. I thought about purchasing a Zoom H4n but for $300, I'll stick to this.

Have just begun to use this adapter. We purchased it integrate two camcorders and two mics a MKE 400 Sennheiser Mic and a SGM-1X by Azden. Both mics enhance the auido over the built-in camcorder mics. We are making educational videos in medical exam rooms. The only issue, which may be the mic or may be the audio adapter is a noticeable hiss in the background. It is not the humm that is from the grounding issue--that is taken care of with the ground switchin on the unit. We are trying to figure out how to eliminate this from the backgroud.
Another issue is that we had to go and buy some mono to stereo adapters to make the mics work. This was in the instructions to the unit, but did not know this at the time of purchase and had to make an extra trip to get the adapter.

I use it with my sony vx200. Cheaper than the other brand. Works great. Now I just need a dc converter so that I can use wireless mics outside because the reciever has to be plugged.

Good idea, but the controls are positioned poorly for hand holding the video camera. I tried it with two different video cameras, wasn't comfortable to hold. Okay on a tripod, but you have to be very careful when adjusting the audio levels, it's just too easy to cause camera movement on the tripod.

I am a professional cameraman. i purchased the xlrPro to feed stereo audio into my canon 7d allowing me to split my channels and record 2 different mics while recording video. it works great. line/mic switchable and having 1/4" and XLR inputs allows me the flexibility to use a variety of wireless and hardline mics when shooting video.

Comments about Sign Video XLRPRO Universal Audio Adapter for Camcorders:
This is a simple, well engineered product. I've been using it for almost 10 years on different camcorders. This model has a clever switch to eliminate hum through different grounding, try both settings, see which is quieter. This seems to vary with the camcorder-microphone combination, it's like a built-in "ground-lifter" switch. Good product.
I don't understand the complaints about hand-holding in the other reviews. Who hand-holds a camcorder with two XLR cables running out to microphones or a mixer? Some folks do, I guess, but I always shoot tripod-mounted when I've got XLR cables connected.

Comments about Sign Video XLRPRO Universal Audio Adapter for Camcorders:
Very poor design, the volume knobs and switches press into the palm of your hand when hand holding the video camera. Thus, making it easy to accidently change the volume levels or the mic/line setting and thus ruin your audio. If you plan on using the 1/8" jack forget it. The plug will stick so far that you can't hand hold the camera. Sorry, but this is a very poorly design xlr adapter.

I have to give it a just okay rating. Had problems handholding the camera since the controls are pressed into your hand. It really could have been designed better. Audio quality is okay.

Comments about Sign Video XLRPRO Universal Audio Adapter for Camcorders:
I have two of these for use with my Sony HDR-FX7 video cameras. The video quality of the cameras and price led me to purchase two of these without XLR inputs instead of one higher priced camera with XLR inputs. Hence, I purchased two of the XLRPRO units to provide XLR input capability on each camera.
• I was a little disappointed that the gain adjustment knobs are so sensitive. I typically have to be SUPER careful when adjusting that I don't wipe out audio while recording... even making micro-adjustments I have to be super careful.

HAVE RODE STEREO VIDEO MIC (1/8" OUTPUT), NADY STEREO CM-2S MIC, AUDIO TECHNICA SHOTGUN MIC (BOTH WITH XLR OUTPUT).
CAN ACCOMADATE ALL THREE (TWO AT A TIME). 2 SMOOTH VOLUME CONTROLS, METAL CONSTRUCTION.
USE IT WITH VELBON SHERPA TRIPOD AND CANON HV20.
VERY HAPPY WITH PERFORMANCE.
