The Turbo 2x2 battery is a heavy-duty portable power source for shoe and handle mount flashes, or digital cameras; with double the power and even smaller size than its predecessor, the Turbo. It has the fastest recycling and the most shots per charge of any Quantum Battery.
With dual outputs this battery pack is ideal to be used to power a pro-digital camera outfit. The Quantum Turbo 2x2 provides programmable low voltage for your digital camera and high voltage for your flash at the same time. Now your flash keeps up with your camera, and camera with flash. Or use it to power two separate flashes!
- Compatible with "SD" series power cables for digital cameras.
- Power monitor "fuel gauge" tells you exactly how much power remains, and a red warning light for when power gets low.

I use this battery to power a Metz 54mz flash. The combo supplies all the power a photog needs for an indoor or even outdoor photo event. This combo delivers flash to 20-25 feet at nice, low ISO values. I also use it on the stand when the flash is on the stand, with either a Pocket Wizard or an off-camera extension cable.
The 2X2 will deliver 500-700 flashes, and then recharges in a few hours. This is my second unit -- a backup battery for a long shoot. These things are the poster children for reliability.
It's only problem is the weight. On the belt, it's a little heavy. I'm getting ready to use a rolling suitcase to haul all this stuff.

I've had the 2x2 for a while now and it is a normal staple of my wedding work. I've also used it for commercial gigs when hooked up to the battery compartment of my 5d. While this is a good system that makes life for the most part easier, the design of the plug is the WORST possible design Quantum could have come up with. It's a simple insert plug that should have been designed as either a push and twist, or some other type of locking system that keeps the cable attached to the 2x2. The biggest problem is the cord coming out during shooting. It happens all the time. I have to snake the cord through my shirt and belt in order for it to stay in most of the time. I'm a pro photographer and have a lot of pro photographer friends and the cable attachment of the Quantum batteries is universally looked at as sub-par. The other weakness of this system are the cables. They are very poor quality and come apart. I've already had 2 of them where the actual plug that goes into the Quantum pulls out of the rest of the cord.

The recycle times on my Nikon Speedlights (SB-900) are super fast. It is a very reliable power. And provides enough flashes for any photo shoot.

I use the 2x2 mainly for weddings. I am able to go at least 10 hours without the Turbo dying on me. It isn't on constantly throughout since I don't use flash on an entire job but it definitely give me the juice I need and the recycling time (1sec) is great!

combined with the t5d-r the turbo 2x2 battery pack is a must have! provides more than enough power to complete entire photo session. depending on the power settings of the flash I have been averaging 325 shots and still have plenty of power left..
it is on the heavy side,not to heavy, but that is what we have assistants for!

I purchased two Turbo 2x2 so that I would never be with out power on a job. One completely failed after only a year. The other is still OK but there is a major problem with the plug that connects to the battery pack. It constantly comes detached from the pack when in use. There is no locking system connecting the cable to the pack. I own several different products from Quantum and found them all to be sub-par in quality.

My first quantum purchase was a quantum 1+ battery which just didn't provide enough for what I needed to power my flash for weddings. The turbo recycles faster and lasts longer! I purchased two so I always have one to use while one is charging.

I use this product everyday in the summer shooting outdoor little league ball photos. On bright days without the Turbo 2x2 my Canon 580 EX II flash would take up to ten seconds or more to recharge. With the Turbo it takes about 1/2 - 1 sec to be ready to go. My only complaint is the price, but it has worked great. If you can afford it I would highly recommend it.

As a Wedding Photographer, one of important equipemnts is the Battery which supply to Camera and Flash light. The Quantum Turbo 2x2 is the good product for QFlash 5d-R. The only problem I have is one 2x2 battery is not enough for whole Wedding. You must have two to fully support one Wedding job.

I use this battery to power my Q-flash. In the Cons section I put "a little heavy". I only put this because of the possibility that I might carry it on my hip. Usually I have it mounted on the tripod that the flash is on so the weight is not an issue.
