Comments about Norman Allure DP320 Monolight - 320 Watt/Seconds (120VAC/12VDC):
I recently purchased a second DP320 to have a pair for shooting Boudoir photography and it has been a really good fixture. On the plus side this light is simple and has a great photo sensor trigger built in. The downside is that the recycle times start to get long at the 1/2 and full power settings (2.5 sec. and 5 sec. respectively) I shoot with them usually on 1/2 power which allows me to get a fairly good rhythm with the subject. These lights are easy to integrate into your lighting package with their simple optical triggers - I really liked that a lot. Money well spent in my opinion!

A replacement housing kit should be available to replace the plastic brackets that are breaking.

Comments about Norman Allure DP320 Monolight - 320 Watt/Seconds (120VAC/12VDC):
I bought this light to abuse in outdoor location shoots in a hideous tropical climate in Costa Rica. I have owned a ton of Norman lighting before, and I was initially disappointed with the flimsy build quality of the Allure. The switches feel cheap and I could crush the reflector with one hand. The modeling light also saps the output of the flash, so get a slimmer bulb and enjoy an extra 1/4 stop. Recycle time is slow, so forget fashion shooting. The reflector is also the incorrect shape and highly inefficient. The Allure puts out a lot of light though, plenty for shooting on a beach in full daylight, lighting a group, or getting f22 on a location food shoot. For the money this is the light to take on location and torture. If it explodes, at least you haven't paid through the nose for the Euro ($) gear. I use it with a Quantum pack and get 50-80 bursts. I wish that I had 5 more Allures.

Comments about Norman Allure DP320 Monolight - 320 Watt/Seconds (120VAC/12VDC):
I love this light except that it did not come with the correct DC power cord. It was bundled with a battery power pack that I cannot use until the correct DC power cord is sent. Other than that, it has worked like a charm. It is light weight and easy to use.

I use this light for outdoor portrait. The thing I like is I can connect to my 3 years old Quantum Turbo 2X2 battery which allow up to 70-80 pictures. This Allure DP320 have AC/DC power.

Comments about Norman Allure DP320 Monolight - 320 Watt/Seconds (120VAC/12VDC):
I purchased two of these for location portraiture lighting without the benefit of any online reviews, so here is my impression after a couple of uses. The design is attractive and build quality is good, although there is a loose piece rattling around inside one. They are relatively compact and easy to set up. A switchable built-in sensor fires the light when it senses a flash. Power is adjustable in three stop increments, but, the recycle time is slow. Works with Quantum Turbo batteries with the included cord for studio quality light anywhere. An adapter is included that allows mounting on virtually any light stand or tripod. I also purchased a speed ring to use with a softbox which isn't a great fit, but that may be a a review for a different item. Included items: AC power cord, DC power cord, PC cord, reflector, heavy plastic protective cover, standard bulb modeling light and threaded stand adapter. Overall, I feel that the manufacturer of this item has done a good job of providing a decent low-cost solution to location lighting.
