Audio-Technica 8449 Shock Mount
The Audio-Technica 8449 is a professional shock mount designed for use with the AT4050, AT4040 and AT4033 microphones. The mount adequately isolates the microphone from noise due to shock and vibration. The mount is compatible with 5/8"-27 threaded stands.

Comments about Audio-Technica 8449 Shock Mount:
I purchased this mount for my AT 4040. I chose this because it was OEM and I figured since it would be designed specificaly for my mic, from the manufacturer, it would be the perfect, quality choice. Well, I was wrong. The mic is inserted into the shock mount, and is held in place by...wait for it...rubber bands!?! For something this expensive, I expected a solid mechanical mounting method. My AKG has a screw in base for the shockmount - much better design. The way the Audio Technica shock mount is designed, I will have to constantly monitor the rubber band to make sure it hasn't deteriorated, or expanded, so the mic doesn't slip out. I will keep the mount for now, it's doing the job. But I will be looking for a better shock mount long term.
