Comments about Kodak Dektol Developer (Powder):
Dektol is used in a collge film lab. Large quantity results in less frequent mixing of stock solution.

Comments about Kodak Dektol Developer (Powder):
This developer is a standard, and is capable of yielding a variety of results depending on dilution or developer additives.
The main downside is the hassle of mixing powder chemistry. Some elements of the powder are very slow to dissolve. Always use proper ventilation, gloves and mask.
Don't be concerned about making such a large volume. As long as your storage containers are completely full, it will last a long time. For my personal darkroom, I use 4 large bottles and several small, single use bottles. The 8,16 or 32 oz bottles are great for a single printing sessions and alleviate the need for measuring. Simply empty, and fill with water twice for a 1:2 ratio. As the small bottles are emptied, I refill from the gallon size. WIth this method, my bottles are always full and there is much less risk of oxidation.

Comments about Kodak Dektol Developer (Powder):
We use this product for our photography students. We mix it at a 1:1 ratio to help with the longevity of the product and still produces a great turnout! Our lab tech likes mixing the 5 gallon, feels like they're mixing a brew!
