The Sunpak Medium Ballhead is for use with most 35mm, digital & light medium format cameras. It features a large padded camera stage for stability, and an easy to grip locking hinge which loosens both the ball sphere and the panning base in one touch.

I got this ballhead as a kit for Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom.
This is the cheapest among other ballheads with similar capacity in the market.
So far it holds my setup Pentax K20D + FA*80-200/2.8 zoom and AF540-FGZ flash.
This is a very light ballhead that match with the Joby Gorillapod so well.
Since it's a small ballhead, it only uses the 1/4" screwmount like the ones we usually find under our cameras.
I don't know how long the twist lock will last.
So far so good but I only had it for a couple weeks. To secure your ballhead you need to really tighten the lock all the way to avoid creeping.
I wish it has a panning lock separately so I don't have to hold the camera with my hand and re-adjust it when I need to pan with the ballhead.
It's because the only lock is the twist lock as seen on the picture. If you want to pan, you need to loosen the twist lock to the left a little bit but that also actually loosen the ball head. So you need to hold your camera with your hand from falling.
Btw, there is no quick release for this ballhead.

Not bad for the price....I bought this with a package with the medium size Gorillapod.
I figure the head will outlast the gorillapod; and for a compact, inexpensive ballhead its pretty decent. I'd like to have a quick release plate, but it would make it bigger, heavier and more expensive. For a small compact camera and situations where speed is not an issue, this is fine.

I used this to mount a digital camcorder for recording practice sets for competition waterskiing. It adjusts and holds the camera exactly how I want it and stays where you set it. Great product for the price.

Should have purchased one of these long ago. This ballhead makes setup a snap; less than a minute to set up tripod mount camera and frame. This inexpensive unit holds my d40 quickly and securely. A real value for the buck.

I bought this specifically for my GorillaPod, to provide a couple more degrees of freedom. Has enough bite to hold my Nikon D3000 and a 18-55mm lens, I haven't tried a zoom lens yet.

I bought this as a replacement for my Sunpack monopod, and it works great. The only issue I have with it is that the adjustment lever is very tough to move, sometimes it makes me question my own strength!

Love how this just screws on and instead of being required to take a veritcal picture or a landscape due to the gorilla pod setup, you add a new dimension of being able to rotate the camera into the exact position you want.

It allows the camcorder to move in every direction, with a little push and tug. I am a C6/C7-POOR HAND MOVEMENT- SCI disabled person...and I have not invested in other products due to my budget, SSI. Comparisons are therefore not what I'm talking about.
In general I try to not have it fixed too hard or else my fragile atrophied hands cannot adjust it.
Great Price! Thanks!

Seems to be made for the gorillapod as the size fits precisely. Haven't used it excessively yet but initial reaction is positive. (The limitations I have noticed are more with the gorillapod itself than with this head). Minimal slippage when properly tightened. Simple design and usage. Wish it came with a quick release plate.

This is my first ballhead. I use it with the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom and it works great. The "Sunpak" sticker came off almost immediately, but I don't really care.
