Comments about Arkay 6JR-6 Mono Stand Jr:
I use this marvelous tool for shoots with products and people. When paired with a Manfrotto 400 geared head, the result is a solid platform for shooting. I also switch out the 400 with a ball head for people portraits in-studio. It is easy to disassemble and take it to a location. I'll use it to shoot a prom soon. This camera stand is every bit as essential to your gear 'bag' as a tripod, because you cannot adjust the height on a tripod as quickly as you can with a camera stand. As with a tripod, you can spend as much as you want -- there are $5k camera stands, and they are great, but not built to travel like this one can. I have made a couple of mods to the arm in my machine shop by tapping some threads into the arm for adding a couple of accessories, such as a monitor and laser rangefinder (for when I use manual focus lenses). Love it. [...]

Comments about Arkay 6JR-6 Mono Stand Jr:
I had a real heavy studio stand before back in the film days it was ok for Mamiya RB but with digital it was too heavy and bulkie. The Arkay is very light wieght very easy to move around great for children photography because you can get real low to the ground. It is real easy to take a apart to bring on location if you would like to. In the excitment of the shoot I would like to take another angle all I have to do is move it with my elbow. Great equipment.

Comments about Arkay 6JR-6 Mono Stand Jr:
Of course you can't compare it to the big money stands, but if you hate messing with tripods on a location shoot this just might be the ticket. Great quality for the price and relatively portable too. It gets around great in small spaces. If you have limited studio space or want a stand to take out to some locations this will keep you rolling.
