The Pioneer HDJ-1000 is an elite pair of comfortable, high-isolation, folding DJ headphones, featuring a high capacity for input level and sensitivity combined with rugged construction and a practical design. The remarkable extended reproduction these headphones offer for both the low and high end is more commonly associated with the audiophile or reference class.
The HDJ-1000's also provide a high, distortion-free output, stereo/mono monitoring via a dedicated selector switch, and a folding design based on bi-directional, universal, folding joints that allow for single ear positioning on either shoulder. This is a deluxe set of DJ headphones, intended for professional use.

I have been using this item to dj with and it is the best headphones i have ever used. Sound is sooo good I am thinking of getting a second pair. I just hope that they will last. I gave it 4 stars just because i have read way to many reviews about them breaking within a year. Maybe these reviews are from djs that are to hard on there equipment idk. If these headphones can hold up I don't see any reason why I wouldn't give it 5 stars. I guess time will tell.

Comments about Pioneer HDJ-1000 DJ Headphones:
I needed a good pair of headphones for monitoring in the studio and live DJing. Overall, the sound is very crisp and they have a very wide frequency range. Mid-range and Hi-range are definitely more powerful than the bass-range, however these are also plugged directly into my computer's output rather than through a pre-amp or mixer. Some post EQ between the output and the headphones might solve this. Also, they are made of plastic, which hasn't been a problem yet, but I have been very careful with them since they seem somewhat fragile. Overall, these headphones have made me happy and are very good for the price.

Comments about Pioneer HDJ-1000 DJ Headphones:
These headphones do about everything I need them to do. They retain good quality at high volumes, they are balanced and full sounding across the entire spectrum, and they don't fall off. Best of all I can't hear ANYTHING else but the music. After extended periods of time, they do become a bit uncomfortable, but I feel the quality is worth it. Also, I wear a size 7 cap and the smallest setting fits perfectly, so if your head is much smaller than that, these may not be for you.

sound great, they do get warm quick and make your ears sweat. Were a little itchy at first but I got used to them. Hopefully they won't break.

Good value all around. Great sound, great bass. Extremely durable design. Compacts easily for travel. Coiled cord for mobility. Cord is on the short side, however. Extended use does lead to discomfort.

Had a pair of Sony HDV-700's and was looking to get a new pair of headphones. Read lots of views on these and decided to get them. I have a semi-pro DJ setup with two Technic MK2s and two Pioneer CDJ 400s with a Pioneer 600 mixer and the headphones sound great. I would definitely recommend these for someone starting out. My next phones will be the HDJ-2000s.

I just get a new pair of Pioneer's hdj 1000 and i keep seen bad things said about them on the net reviews, is all that true?, that they break a few months later?. To me they are great and no other dj headphones sound like it.
