I read a lot of reviews on tripods before deciding on this one. I needed something solid, reliable and reasonably priced. This tripod fit the bill, and I am not disappointed I purchased it.
It unfolds smoothly and quickly. It is solid and well constructed without being too heavy. It does get somewhat heavy after lugging it around for a long hike, but for those times I just use my monopod anyway.
The ball head is amazing. This is the first one I have owned and will never go back to the other head again. It is quick and very accurate.
The one drawback (which I was fully aware of when I purchased it) is that it does not have a quick release plate. However, it does go on quickly and come off quickly.
For the money, it is a great buy and I would recommend it highly!

OK but not great
The only complaint I have is the ball can not be tighened to prevent the camera from rotating left to right or in a circular motion.

Suprisingly sturdy tripod, however you can NOT lock the ball head from rotating, thus the head has a little play from the rotational pivot. I chose that I would recommend this to a friend as long as they are ok with the fact that there is no lock for the rotating axis.

Seems, so far, like a pretty rugged tripod. I love how you can set it to a low stance. It folds short enough to pack, but can expand tall enough for me (6ft) to stand comfortably behind it. With my Nikon D300 and a telephoto lens on it, it was very sturdy. I'd recommend this tripod to anyone.

Use for macro, portraits, moving lights.. This a VERY STURDY product. It holds my 100mm macro Canon lens without the extra tripod mount you have to buy! Very well built! The ball head is great, moves easily, doesn't slip. You don't really need a quick release plate because the dial on the platform is so quick and easy!! Also this thing weighs less than 3 pounds, so it sooo lightweight. Great for travel! Great product. Oh of course, it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY! For the money, you can't beat this product!

Use the tripod mostly for macro shots. Was afraid it might not be sturdy enough to hold my 100mm macro lens. This tripod is so sturdy, you don't even need the tripod mount ring for the lens! What a great deal! And lifetime warranty. You can't go wrong! Also, the dial on head is so quick and easy, you don't even need the quick release plate to go with this! Its very light in weight. Great tripod for the money!

Stable construct; folds easily; ball head holds well. Can get heavy after carrying it around for a while, but that is to be expected for this pricepoint.

Excellent tripod for the money. It is fairly stable, the ball head joint works well, collapses easily. Only downside is it can get somewhat heavy after carrying it around for awhile, but that is expected in this price range.
