Petrol PMH-2 Mini Hood - for Camcorders with 3.5" LCD Monitors
The Petrol PMH-2 Mini Hood is made to fit camcorders with 3.5" diameter LCD panel on the monitor. The two-piece monitor hood reduces glare especially in bright sunlight. The hood is made of lightweight padded fabric with rigid internal panels. Mini Hoods can be positioned 90° or 180° on the monitor.

This item was purchased for an upcoming outdoor film shoot and was installed on a Panasonic HVX200. Weather was 78° and no clouds, bright and sunny. Without some sort of hood it would have been nearly impossible to verify the shots in my LCD. True that you can use the viewfinder, but it's much faster to set up for action shots with the LCD, and it's easier for clients to proof from the LCD as well.
This item performs well and unfolds flat for nice storage.
The "U" shape that attaches over the square is a hard, scored plastic that may possibly give through bending and flattening repeatedly over time. Despite this, it's price and performance make it a worthwhile purchase.

This Mini Hood works great for blocking the sun on my outdoor shots. The hood also allows the clients to view the footage in the field.
Very light,sturdy and easy to pack up. It also adds to the "professional look" for your clients. I would recommend this product for any camera with at 3.5" LCD. It does not come with instructions but only took me 5 min to put it together.

This little guy does everything that it's supposed to. It helped to give me the clearing that I needed to get the shots that I wanted most. Nice sturdy design with none of the flimsy plastic accessorizing that competing brands tend to flaunt. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that needs a good shade provider for their camcorder.

I use this product on my Panasonic DVX outdoors on sunny days, usually for skate and wedding shoots. It fits the camera well and eliminates a lot of glare on the screen. It doesnt come with instructions so it takes a few minutes to figure out how it folds together. Whats nice is it flattens out so it fits easily into may camera case when im not using it.

This video hood helps SO much when shooting outdoors when using the LCD screen. It collapses and folds for easy storage and is clipped into place easily and quickly. It's lightweight and I can't shoot outdoors without it!

The mini hood fits snug on the LCD flip-out monitor and keeps virtually all light out (the plastic hood extender allows a tiny bit of light to creep in at the corners, but not enough to dissuade anyone from buying this.
