The Kamesan KS-342 is a professional, feature packed 4-channel portable audio mixer designed for ENG / EFP, broadcast, documentary and film applications. The KS-342 delivers a feature set that includes M/S stereo decoding, stereo main and sub outputs, built-in compressor, channel linking, switchable 48V and 12V A-B phantom power; and unique to the KS-342 is its AES/EBU digital output.
The KS-342's AES/EBU output is capable of 24-bit audio at 44.1, 48 and 96kHz resolution, providing a digital connection to portable digital recorders, computer interfaces and more. The KS-342's controls feature a comprehensive, well designed panel for maximum comfort and ease while operating with gloves and in harsh weather. Its quiet circuitry, pristine audio fidelity and unique feature set make the KS-342 more than suitable for all professional broadcast and film applications.
- 4 Input Channels
- The KS-342 features 4 input channels with balanced, low-noise XLR connections. The inputs feature variable level control for microphone and line level signal.
- Stereo Main Output
- A pair of balanced stereo XLR outputs provide microphone and line level output signal.
- AES/EBU Digital Output
- In addition to analog outputs the KS-342 features an AES/EBU digital output on a 3-pin XLR connection. The digital stereo output is capable of 24-bit audio at 44.1, 48 or 96kHz resolution.
- 5-pin Analog Sub-Output
- A single 5-pin XLR connection provides an additional stereo output. The sub-output may be assigned to output channels 3 and 4, M/S decoding applications or used as an additional stereo main output for all input channels.
- M/S Stereo Matrix
- Channels 1 and 2 feature an M/S switch for easy M/S stereo decoding. Channel fader 1 controls M/S signal width while fader 2 controls level.
- Comprehensive Monitoring
- 1/4" TRS Phone headphone output located on the front panel features a level control and switch for various L/R and M/S monitoring modes.
- Plenty of Powering Options
- The KS-342 is powered with 8-AA alkaline batteries for up to 6 hours. Additional powering options include external 10V and 15V DC power sources or a standard NP1 battery.
- Selectable Phantom Power
- All input channels are capable of supplying +48V phantom or 12V A-B power.
- Ergonomic Controls and Layout
- The front panel features a comprehensive layout with easily accessible controls and comfortable dials in all temperatures.
- Slate Microphone
- An internal slate microphone is provided for clapper marking and commentary.
- Compressor
- An internal compressor is provided for ultimate level control while eliminating distortion due to peak overload.
- Expandable Option Slots
- The KS-342 features 2 slots for expansion modules that provide sub-mixing capability and a four-channel integrated EQ/compressor module.
