Kamesan KS-1018 Kachinko System (Clapperboard)

The KS-1018 Kachinko System (Clapperboard) from Kamesan is a dual-unit system that allows you to synchronize audio and video recordings. This solution is perfect if you're shooting with multiple low-budget cameras or transmitting audio and video separately. It is also well suited to face any other difficult situation where feeds become separated. It will allow you to maintain the continuity of your work by providing synchronized cues so that when you get to the studio the precise amount of slip can be added to the system to achieve congruous final results.

This unit features a "one-shot" button on the top panel, which can be triggered to signal a cue light pulse and audio tone that act as a cue point. This trigger can be manually activated, or alternatively it can be set to automatically loop so a tape can be striped with several beeps. The audio tone can be emitted through a built-in speaker, or can be connected via an XLR port on a camera or audio recorder. The main white light on the front panel serves as the visual cue. But if the unit is used in automatic loop mode, the three lights on the right of the front panel will show a 3-2-1 countdown pulse for visual reference.

A threaded socket on the bottom of this unit allows you to use it with any standard tripod or shoe system, although the unit comes standard with rubber feet that allow you to position it virtually anywhere. The front panel's lights and speaker are protected by four shutters that can be opened and closed as needed. This unit runs on (4) AA batteries.
