This Wein PN Digital Peanut Slave Set is a package of 3 PN Digital slaves.
Since ordinary slave units will not work with most digital cameras (because these cameras use a very rapid series of pre-flashes, that trigger the slave prematurely), Wein is now offering the Digital line of slaves. A typical slave unit will fire on the pre-flash it senses while the digital camera captures the image on the last flash. These slave units are specially designed to only be triggered by the correct flash sensed by their built-in optical Standard PC sync connector, can be used with the Vivitar 283/285 or other flashes via use of a PC cord.
Note! Not compatible with Canon 580EX II flash

Comments about Wein PN Peanut Slave for Digital Camera Systems (3-Pack):
I use these to fire 2- or 4-AA pocket flashes (mostly left over from the 80s) within 20 or 30 feet of an on-camera TTL hotshoe flash and they work great; in fact, one survived the slave catching on fire--guess I shouldn't have tried to recycle it that fast! But really, burning capacitors smell awful.
If you're not going to be in the same line-of-sight as your flash equipment, and relatively close, these won't work; buy a radio unit instead. But for low power, hotshoe usage, they're awesome!
All 3 peanuts arrived intact and function perfectly. I just wish I'd known about these sooner. They're on my "coolest device ever" list.
