Kowa enjoys a spectacular reputation of enduring quality internationally, where there are large numbers of nature enthusiasts.
Kowa's line of 60mm spotting scopes represent the best of ultra-compact scopes with interchangeable eyepieces. Both models offer fully multicoated lenses and nitrogen purging for waterproofed protection. These are finely crafted, exquisite pieces that'll astound you with their quality.
It is entirely a matter of personal preference best determined by experience, but many feel that straight scopes offer a more intuitive way to locate your subject quickly. They're usually a bit lighter than their angled counterparts, and almost always less expensive as well.

Comments about Kowa TSN-602 2.4"/60mm Spotting Scope (Requires Eyepiece) - Green:
Was good but not better than anything else in it's price range or a much older scope I own. To spend that much money it's pointless not to spend another 200 and get the ED glass.

Comments about Kowa TSN-602 2.4"/60mm Spotting Scope (Requires Eyepiece) - Green:
This scope is incredible and for the money it can't be beat. With the excellent TSE-Z9B 20x-60x zoom eyepiece, there is crisp clarity and a wide field of view through out the zoom range. The compact size and weight make it ideal for back country use.
The only thing that keeps it from being absolutely perfect is a slight chromatic aberration at 60x cause with a slight blue halo around bright high contrast objects (you can only see it if you actually look for it). A polarizing filter seems to take it away.
I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone who asked. As good as any Swarovski of Leica in standard glass at a third the price and two thirds the weight, can't beat it.
