I never thought I'd need this cable, and thus passed it up when I received my Nikon Coolpix 5600 camera as a gift one year. "I can just use the SD card reader for my PC" I reasoned. However, when my computer started trying to assure me that the SD card was corrupt and needed to be formatted before use, thus cutting me off from the photos I had just taken, things looked grim.Luckily, this cable, though a bit of a gamble, paid off big time. With the SD card planted firmly in the camera, I attached the cable and went to work. Sure enough, I was able to access the photos on the card directly, no hassle needed.There are some things to be said of the negative aspects, however. It's a proprietary version of USB, meaning this particular cord is hard to come by (unless of course you're a frequenter of B&H, and heck, why shouldn't you be?). That's more a nag about the camera, however. The cable came [...] ready to use, and rarin' to go!

This product was purchased to replace the usb cord for a Nikon Coolpix S8000. As soon as it was out of the box, it was plugged in and used to download a bunch of pics/vids, since my old cord was lost.
No downsides about this product. It's as if I had the original still.

So the first one I bought online just did not work... and g** searched until I found B&H. After reading reviews that this worked with their Nikons, I bought it. Just plug it in and it will work! Easiest way to connect Nikon Cool Pix camera with AC to re-charge the battery, as well as connecting to computer to transfer images.
Very easy to connect, a no-brainer.
It is a Nikon proprietary cable, and although I did find a Fugi camera that uses the same type of cable, it's GREAT to have the one that is made for it.

This one works perfectly for my Nikon Coolpix L20 bought "online". Another USB cable I bought online said it would work.. but did not. A google search for USB cable that really works brought me here.
