• Edge Highlights
  Edge Highlights provides you with the ability to add subtle highlights to your images. Highlights help photos have more depth and separation from their background and add more interest to images that are otherwise flat. Edge Highlights can provide the tools necessary to add the extra depth needed to bring out the depth in your images.
• Ethereal
  Ethereal enhances an image by adding in tonal diffusion and light to soften and enrich the lighter values in the image. Much like the traditional technique used by professional photographers, Ethereal simulates a longer exposure with a soft lens and a bright light source. The Ethereal effect is versatile in how it can be applied. Using ellipse paths you define the areas of coverage, the tonal values, radius, softness, cast amount and colors and other settings that give you precise controls.
• Fairy Dust
  Fairy Dust adds a wide assortment of creative fantasy patterns and content to the shape of a path you draw. With Fairy Dust you can add twinkles, sparkles, snow flakes, stars, glowing embers, light flares, confetti and lots of other creative shapes that are streamed along the path you draw.
• Flare
  Flare creates bursts of light and glowing vortex shapes to simulate a wide variety of looks from a realistic suns to sci-fi styled rays of light. Flare is capable of following mask shapes so that the rays shoot from the shape of the masked object or follow the outline of the mask.
• Light Brush
  Light Brush is a powerful tool that lets you brush on highlights in areas where you want to add new or improve existing light on your image. Using this tool it is easy to simulate sunshine, increased ambient light or directional light striking any surface you brush onto. Several blending modes allow you control over how the light fades onto the surface of your image. Refined tonal controls let you brush and blend light only onto areas that match your desired target area. If you want to highlight a section of a face but not the hair you simply modify the tonal constraints and then brush light onto the face and it does not modify the hair. Working with either grayscale or color images you may apply traditional 'natural' light or vibrant 'artistic' styled lighting to enhance your images.
• Light Caster
  Light Caster adds a wide assortment of streaming light sources onto your image. It can be used with or without a masked selection to light the background or foreground subject. Using Light Caster you can stream in light that is either seen through an atmosphere (mist or haze) or increase the light and ambiance where it casts. This is a very flexible and powerful tool that has great features to generate realistic looking light. The light can both casts across the photo blending into the surface and wrap around the edges of your masked images to form a natural looking result.
• Mist
  Mist adds natural looking ground fog, blowing mist, smoke and even a blowing snow type of look to images. Brush on the mist and experiment with the different creative options to come up with the right look you are after. Mist can be used with the other effects in Mystical Lighting by applying it first and then stacking lighting effects on layers above it. The light will react to the mist effect as it would in nature giving glowing white highlights.
• Mottled Background
  Mottled Background adds distinctive mottled canvas style backgrounds, like those you find in portrait studios, behind your images. Mottled Background makes it easy for you to define the focal areas of the photo by setting the lighting and canvas colors on the background.
• Radial Light Caster
  Radial Light Caster creates bursts of streaming light that radiate outward from a central point. Select from different styles, light beams and rays, smoke effects that change the shape of the light so you have an inf

In Mystical Lighting each effect has a set of controls that allow you to adjust the visual settings. When you click on an effect path, for example, the controls will display the settings for this path only. You can make localized adjustments and receive precise results in this manner. Controls, in most cases, can be copied and reapplied elsewhere to duplicate similar results. You may also clone an effect layer and all the dynamic controls are copied making it easy to create subtle variations between layers.

  As you adjust controls the effect updates itself automatically. An intelligent control interrupt system allows you to interrupt the effect if it is updating itself.
• ADVANCED PREVIEW SYSTEM
  Mystical Lighting's adjustable preview features a 1600% marquee zoom capability with built in panning support. Previews can be shown in Proxy mode so they render blazingly fast regardless of the image size.
• SAVE AND REPLAY EFFECTS WITH VISUAL PRESETS
  Presets are Resolution Independent so you can get the same results while working on any sized file. Presets are saved in a Visual Preset Catalog with thumbnails showing you previews of the preset effects. You can save effect presets or layer presets. Effect presets alter just the effect while layer presets capture and replay an entire set of effects and build all layers needed to generate this look. Both effect and layer presets save in a visual catalog.
• UNLIMITED UNDO
  With unlimited undo capability you can work and then quickly undo to correct mistakes and go back as far as you like. Brush strokes, transformations, control changes, effect settings, layer creation and reordering - everything can be undone using this feature.
• MEMORY DOTS
  Click a memory dot on the interface and Mystical Lighting remembers your current settings. You can explore with your design ideas and come back to where you were with a single click.
• DYNAMIC IMAGE AND EFFECT TRANSFORMATION
  Effects and images can be freeform transformed multiple times with no loss to quality as Mystical Lighting always stores and works from the original image when generating effect layers. Everything is written dynamically so the user works in a true non-linear fashion and can go forward or back by adjusting the controls
• FILE OPEN AND SAVE SUPPORT
  Mystical Lighting features file loading and saving support for: .psd, .tif, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png file formats. Saving in Photoshop format will export the effect layers into a single transparent layer in a Photoshop native document.

  Mystical Lighting lets you hold your mouse over a control for a few seconds and a floating window appears that contains comprehensive detailed instructions about the control.
