The AM/FM Q is TERK's finest indoor, amplified AM/FM antenna, combining high-performance and superior technologies in a stylish and compact design. This antenna offers superior radio reception by adjusting to a wide range of conditions.

At the heart of the AM/FM Q antenna is TERK's unique Pin-Dot Pre-Tuning which allows the user to adjust the antenna to a specific frequency by simply adjusting the dial to match the desired radio station. The result is clearer AM and FM stations and much less static than ever before.

More Stations
By combining Pin-Dot pre Tuning with controlled amplification, the AM/FM Q can make it possible to enjoy stations that were previously unlistenable. Sometimes a station is too weak to hear above the static, often because it is too far away. To counteract this, the AM/FM Q contains a built-in amplifier that strengthens signals.
In addition, the AM/FM Q features Pin-Dot pre Tuning system that zeroes in on hard-to-receive stations. As the air waves become increasingly crowded, fine-tuning has become an increasingly useful tool in the quest for better reception.
Clearer Reception
The AM/FM Q tunes out noise and interference using TERK's Pin-Dot pre Tuning system to receive AM and FM stations with greater clarity than ever before. Pin-Dot pre Tuning adjusts the antenna to match a specific frequency and that means less static to the listener. Although amplifiers do strengthen signals, stronger is not always better. If a station has too much static, amplifying it will also amplify the noise and may actually make it harder to hear.
The best antennas allow you to control the level of amplification while continually optimizing the desired signal for better reception. TERK's AM/FM Q gives you this kind of full control needed for today's crowded airwaves.
Designed for Top Performance & Control
The AM/FM Q is actually two discreet antennas: an AM and FM. The antenna experts at TERK know that placing the AM and FM antennas so close to each other can negatively impact reception. That's why the AM/FM Q's AM antenna flips back away from the FM antenna and features patented Non-Coinduction circuitry to isolate the antennas from each other and preserve radio reception.
On the face of the AM/FM Q is a line of LED's that facilitate tuning and amplifying. Depending on which is being adjusted at the time, LED's (in red) indicate level of amplification or station being tuned in (key on back of AM/FM Q).
TERK has even thought of the little details: the AM/FM Q stands on a non-skid pedestal so it won't slide around during adjustments.
A Few, Simple Connections
The AM/FM Q does require a few connections: AM and FM wires must be plugged into a radio/receiver and the power cord must be plugged into a wall outlet. Since tuners and receivers may have either 75 ohm or 300 ohm antenna inputs, the AM/FM Q comes complete with adapters.

Comments about Terk Technologies AF-1 AM/FM Q Amplified Indoor AM/FM Antenna:

I use this in the home where no access to windows and heavy foliage surround the outside of the house. The antenna brings in all channels perfectly where before I could only get 1 with static. The ability to tune for better signal on a particular frequency is nice too. Great product.

Comments about Terk Technologies AF-1 AM/FM Q Amplified Indoor AM/FM Antenna:

        No value whatsoever:
        1. The 115 volt power supply transformer input had an open circuit. No output. A regulated substitute of the correct polarity functioned very poorly for only 3 minutes before smoke issued from the FM connector assembly. The good news is that it can be used as a paper weight. If a wiring diagram was available, perhaps a repair could be made. But, in view of all the poor reviews, would it be worth the effort? The performance of the AM section was marginal. The poor quality and performance of this antenna detracts from Terk Technology otherwise good reputation.

This purchase was a total waste of money. If this was priced at $5.00 and had this type of bad reception, I wouldn't care. But when it cost ten times that much and still performs terribly, I become convinced that I have been ripped-off. This is the worst product I've seen in quite a while.

The FM component of the Terk AM/FM Q Amplified Antenna works about as well as any other FM antenna, and the AM component does not work at all. I live in NYC and the antenna failed to pull in one AM station. I returned this antenna and replaced it with separate Terk antennas, one for AM and one for FM, which together cost less and functioned much better than this model.

WE live in the Rockies on top of a mountain and got only marginal signal prior to getting the Terk. We still live in the Rockies and still get marginal signal. Not much improvement, even with antenna mounted outside with no obstructions.

I use it for FM reception in a lower level entertainment center and have used one also at ground level. I'm able to receive all regional stations with excellent reception using the Terk. Without the Terk I get one station - with interference.
